Iacis

When Iacis was born, his two Elven parents were shocked to see two little horns probing out the side of his head, and long lively spaded tail. Neither of them were magically attuned, and had no dealings with any demon or devil. No ancestry pointed back to this...it is as if the boy was cursed. A cursed child. However they never let this get in the way of their beautiful baby boy. He grew up being shown more smiles and happiness than most children could ask for from parents.

This could not be said for most of the other children. As he grew his demonic features did as well. His parents made every effort to try and hide his tail and told him to keep his hat on at all times. However, this could not last forever. Eventually it was discovered that he was a Spawn of the Pit, a taint upon the society. He was often picked on and bullied by other children, verbally and physically. Ones that were once his friend turned against him through peer pressure.

Whatever pushed him onward was something more benevolent. He did not hate the kids who bullied him. In fact he sought to do nice things for them to try and change their opinion of him. This often proved to be fruitless, however he never gave up. He always smiled, spoke gently, reassured, and lifted up.

Iacis had never raised a hand against an aggressor unless it was someone other than himself.

Around the age of eight, when Iacis was off exploring as he usually does he discovered something odd. It was a very fancily dressed individual, their leg had been caught in something and they seemed to be in pain. They were off in an alleyway and no-one could here or were paying attention to their cries for help. He lacked the strength to pull them out, and when he tried they cried in pain. So he decided it was best to find someone else, he assured them that he would be back, that he'd help them.

Iacis ran of to his parents, with excitement in his veins. He was going to achieve his goal! To save someone, that's what this little boy had dreamt of! Getting to them he began explaining in a hurry, but something was wrong. Whenever he got close to them they began looking weak, and tired. Soon they collapsed to the ground. Shocked he knew not what to do but go find others to help.

Unfortunately, anyone that he approached became weak and collapsed, not moving, not breathing. In a panic he went to the guards, to the general store, to the tailor, the cobbler, the nice baker lady. All of them fell before him. Looking over his hands and arms he saw the runic marks on him glowing, his horns were as well. He poked and prodded the fallen, tears in his eyes as he cried out. It hurt...

Unbeknownst to Iacis, he was draining their very life force and souls from their body, adding it to his own. He lie there in tears, a most terrible day, a most terrible curse. It took some time, but word caught wind and court mages were able to magically protect themselves to enter close enough to the boy. Putting a protective barrier around him, they hauled him off to the dungeon.

When he was calmed down and questioned, or rather interrogated harshly. He explained in detail what happened, and hurried them to quickly save that person he had found in the alley before it was too late! Realizing the description the boy had given, royal guard were sent to recover said person in question. He was pierced and earrings were placed upon him, magical in nature, they seemed to hold his chaotic magical energy at bay. The mage explained to him that his demonic blood had awakened not only his body but soul, and an influx of power had rushed through him when he expressed heightened emotion. Then, that people with magical abilities experience this at his age but not at this intensity...or effect.

Leaving him be for some time, he was left in an isolated room to sulk. The next time the massive door of wood and iron opened wide, a man in noble garb came through. He told Iacis that he had saved the life of royalty directly related to the King. However, he was responsible for the deaths of many...many people. To both show his gratitude, and as his punishment he was indebted to a lifetime of servitude to the King. That he would become a squire immediately.

Being a Squire was no easier than being a normal Elvish Demonkin. In fact it was much harder. Under the tutelage of knights that knew exactly what the abomination of a child was responsible for. It made them push him to near death, dawn and dusk. He never saw a lick of free time, always scolded for speaking, showing any signs of emotion. However, over time he grew on these dark hearts. As they saw that Iacis wanted more than they realized...to repay his debt. A soft smile on his face through the lashes on his back, a helping hand whenever his masters required it. In training, a steadfast determination, to serve, and be as dutiful as any knight in the realm possibly could. Near the end of his training and on the day of his knighting; each of the knights who trained him said with pride, that he was the greatest pupil they will ever have under their teachings. All...But one of his masters, who only continued to give him the same disappointed glare since the start of his days as a squire. A glare that only told him on thing...


The faces of the dead and that dead played through his dreams in a nightmarish hell. As all he could do is watch those he knew growing up fall to their deaths because of him. Even though he wanted nothing more than to make them happy...to save that person in the alley. It brought tears to his eyes each time. So he swore to himself that he would make up for the lives that he took...

With the help of the Mage he was able to control his magical energies, to a degree. He wouldn't be going on any unwilling genocides thanks to him. On top of this his combat abilities had been heightened through his magics. By no regard was he extremely proficient in magic, merely he knew how it worked, and how to do specific things regarding his body with it.

Iacis had built up quite the name. Before his knighting there was tournaments that were held. Every young squire had a chance three times in their carrier to prove themselves before the knighting ceremony. Duels, one on one to determine the strongest of the new blood. Nobles and commoners alike watched these tournaments, but most importantly the King.

It was no surprise that through his hardships, and his indomitable will he was champion of all three tournaments held before his knighting. Compared to that of nobles that were squired, and the occasional commoner. Where he lacked in skill he made up for in sheer resolve, and as the years passed he surpassed them in both areas. Upon his knighting he was given high honors for his tireless efforts of training to become a knight.

After his coronation, the King came to him directly. He asked for his sword. Without question did Iacis give the King his sword, kneeling before him. He told him something that has stuck with him for two years now. A task in which he put his heart and soul into. Gladly, with joy, and a smile upon his lips. A privilege, an honor, his duty...
