Alyx was by no means impervious to the apparent differences he had, which he made clear even as an infant in his human mother’s arms as she carried him out of Faerie. He has never known his father, and was content that his lone parent raise him as humanly as she could as they settled back in the human world. However, it was hard posing as a normal one with the physical changes his body took on as he grew up: he had more limbs to begin with, bird claws and wings after his human hands, two hearts… and too many feathers. Under the guise and glamour of a compartmentalized wheelchair and human features, even if it made him titchy - being cooped up in that small space, he managed to even go to school and managed to finish a degree in horology and clockwork mechanics. Who knew bird claws could substitute as excellent tweezers?

Soon he found himself immersed in different jobs that included lettering and even ghost writing alongside clockmaking to make a living in the city he and his mother had settled in, until he noticed that she was aging faster and him retaining his youth. Moving back to the city was a decision spurred by his mother’s last wishes, although he had no idea that he would be returning to the same place where his father could still possibly be lurking around. To know whether he was safe to come out of the box, he has yet to see what these places could really bring him.
