Lady Turner

Known for their association with religious organizations, The Templars are the armored fist of The Church. The Mage Hunter Templars however, stand as shields against witch and wizard, warlock and sorcerer.

Specially trained to fight magic users, and forced to undertake a religious ritual daily, Mage Hunter Templars now posses the uncanny ability to deny a magic user their source of power. Described by mages as "Anchors for Reality" The mere presence of a skilled Mage Hunter is enough to make it more difficult for a Mage to call upon their powers.... and when the Hunter exerts their will upon the world around them, they are even capable of outright dispelling magic and even shielding their allies from it.

Born a bastard child to a young Noble, Lady Turner was always destined for a life of service to the church. However, her sheer size compared to other women at the church meant that as she grew, she caught the eye of the more militant sect that didn't see a use in wasting her natural capabilities by keeping her cooped up somewhere mumbling prayers.

Instead, Lady Turner found purpose among the Templars. Training both arm and mind, Lady Turner was eventually called away to support The Church's Mage Hunters. Unfortunately for her, the mage they sought was a young woman she knew well. The Mage was a small thing just barely younger than herself, and formerly her very own servant when she had still lived at her parent's estate. Lady Turner remembered vividly the months and years she and the girl played together... the first and only friend she ever really knew.

But now, here the girl stood, sobbing among a sea of flames and charred bodies... The Mage Hunters later explained that her magical abilities had been dormant for quite some time until they had been called to deal with her. Lady Turner could not imagine the terror the girl must have felt, kneeling there among a sea of flames created by her will, and simultaneously unable to control them. Unfortunately enough, the girl had to be slain, her absolute terror not allowing her any moment to control herself or her flames.

It was from that moment she joined the Mage Hunters, seeking a way not to slaughter magic users... but to stand for them, and give them a sense of peace, that her mere presence may keep in check what they cannot. After all, it was not often that a mage ASKED for their magical talent... It is a terrible thing, to be forced to wield a blade that you cannot sheathe, a blade you are forced to point at all you meet.
