    Hard-working and stable, few men have convictions as resolute as Merik. Armed with a sword and twin daggers gifted by his absent elven mother, he accepts contracts from mistreated victims to slaughter monsters on their behalf. Pragmatic to the point of occasional controlled pessimism, Merik is still young and trying to make a place for himself in the world. Despite first impressions, Merik is rather soft-hearted. He is sentimental, profoundly religious, and always takes the time to savor a hot meal or help out when needed. His identity as a half-elf is hidden, not out of shame, but for protection and trust among distrustful humans.
