Short version: On the outside, he comes off emotional and emotive, secure, energetic, tollerant, gentle, faithful, and deeply grateful. On the inside, he's just as emotional, romatic, sentimental, and contemplative, with a mind full of self-judgment, a tendency to surrender to being the martyr, and much more troubled than he lets show.
Long version: He has a strong desire to help others, be it to his detriment or not. The truth is, he finds peace in serving others as it temporarily chases off his tendency to spin about in his head over traits he feels are character flaws. That's not to say he doesn't feel called to be that way, he certainly does, but he has a hard time accepting the parts of himself that are more self-serving.
He hates to be fussed over, and will often redirect the situation. But at the same time, he's a martyr, and won't help himself or let others help him. Though, once someone has forced him to accept help, he's grateful and makes sure to repay the debts he feels he owes in full. To avoid this, though, he's become skilled at masking the depth of his emotions when he's upset.
Part of him feels undeserving. He's acknowledged that to be the root of his problems. It's why he will stretch himself thin. It's why he will silently combust. It's why, when criticized, he will quietly listen, and then feel the wounds later, taking the words he's hit with and using them to rip himself apart from the inside once he's alone.
Good emotions can sweep him up just as easily, though. He's a true romantic. Not just in relationships, but in the way he views the world around him. The way the sun graces the trees in the early morning, the way the grass sways with a gentle coastal breeze. The way he can coax a smile out of a lover with simple actions, or the desire to make someone else feel the security he can't seem to create for himself. Again, though, he's not much for being fussed over excessively.
Otherwise, when he's at his best, he can be energetic and enjoys chances to take intuitive. Be that teaching, or in deciding what to do when a problem arises. He doesn't think twice about being the one to let someone bear their soul to in a time of need. He's been the emotional touchstone for his sisters since they were little, and he would drop anything for family. Occasionally, he can be teasing, though it's always from a place of affection.

Relationship history: Gildas is convinced he has remarkable bad luck in love. But that, he assumes, is what comes of secrets. The last man he was with left with the low tide after promising he wouldn't, without a note, or any warning. That was two years ago. Gildas, despite his nature, resigned a bit.
Family history: He has two younger sisters, Salome and Kalisto. His parents, as well as three of his grandparents, are still alive.
