Work background: Avu works for Mann Co. and is a part of a team of mercenaries. That team is named ORNG. The ORNG team was put together by O. Angie Kell to murder her sister, P. Ursalo Kell and gain control of the gravel pit in New Mexico. After the sisters were both killed by their cousin, Grey Mann, Avu and the other mercs were hired by Saxton Hale (CEO OF Mann Co.), who was also in control of several other teams (BLU, RED, GRN, YLW). Saxton forced the four teams (mentioned earlier) to fight each-other, in exchange for an-almost-eternal life, and money. Both ORNG and PRPL joined the fight. ORNG has a full alliance with the RED and YLW teams.

Self background: Avu, or Avu Leoni, daughter of Ming Leoni and Devi Leoni is a Pyro on ORNG team. She is from Chinese decent, her appearance being tan skin, black hair that she keeps long so her gas-mask will fit, and a branding mark on the back of her neck. Avu was born poor in Hong Kong, China, and worked as a slave with her parents. She had a branding mark on her so that escaping her slave owners was discouraged, but what the owners did not consider was escaping to America. Avu's parent's helped her onto a cargo ship, but Avu's father, Devi was caught, and taken away. Avu and her mother Ming stowed-away on the ship. Ming later died of an unidentifiable disease. Once the ship arrived in Boston, Massachusetts, Avu set out to find a job in America. She hopped on a plane headed towards a remote mountain location in [REDACTED] and met up with O. Angie Kell for the first time. She was immediately hired and dragged on a plane with 8 other people, becoming the foundation of the ORNG team.
