Kaerio Kleisthenes

Mizarus was sure he'd have another son. Sazarii was his newest concubine but she was beautiful and lovely, quiet and obedient, everything a good wife should be to her stronger mate.

Zan and Zaxx were thrilled frankly, to have a brother to mold and train, a third to their duo to conquer more of the sea, now that was something to be excited for.

The trio of males waited a ways away from the bed where Sazarii was to give birth.

Sazarii..

Was terrified.

She wasn't all that strong where sirens went, and Mizarus wasn't an ideal mate, but he had strong blood, he'd give her a lovely daughter who would be strong enough to survive the cruel oceans. But there was always a risk when a Siren mated with someone not a siren.

Merfolk and Sirens did not get along for many reasons. Sirens were destructive, cruel to land folk (which lets face it most Mer folk don't like land folk either) causing wrecks and causing sailors to hunt down all mer folk. Sirens would even turn on mer folk, and vice versa. It was a tense sort of affair between the two species.

It didn't help that Sirens were purely female, and needed men to reproduce, though often times Sirens would just kidnap a merman and force him to fertilize her eggs and kill and feed them to her newborn daughter. If the resulting child was a boy, then they'd simply leave the child out in the open near a mer colony and leave it to either be killed or taken in by others. [They do not care about the male offspring]

What made Sazarii worry, was the fact that her child, was not a boy or girl.. but both in the same body. such things just didn't happen in Siren reproduction as far as she was aware, so what had happened here?

Mizarus was angry, She was supposed to give him a son and instead she fucked it up. "What is this woman, you fucked up giving me a son and give me this wretched abomination?! Tch."
"Please my love, don't kill it!" She said, speaking up uncharacteristically of a Siren (of which Mizarus didn't even know his wife was) as Mizarus had raised his trident to want to skewer the softly crying pup.

"Why ever not? It's an abomination. Not a son, not a daughter, but some unholy hybrid of the two." He eyed her angrily.
"C.. cause it can still be of use my love. You know.. Zann and Zaxx aren't the best when it comes to matters of politics, strong as they are.. if we raise it, they could be that mental half, obeying your sons when they take the throne and you before." She offered. and the idea.. appealed to Mizarus. "hmm.. Perhaps you are right then. Fine. It is not an Heir of mine and it will learn its place in this world."

Chidlhood was not kind to Kaerio. Often called Korrina as an insult by his older brothers or father, Kaerio learned that that was a sign they were angry and that abuse would follow.

He was the whipping boy for his brothers, anything they did wrong, Kaerio took the blame for. He learned however useful skills. He knew how to fight with a trident, even though he wasn't the strongest and despised it, he was swifter due to it. He knew how to handle matters of politics between mer kingdoms, knew everything about them and how to plan tactics. the boy had a wit, was sharp as a tack.

But even he had a breaking point.

That breaking point happened when he turned 15, on the cusp of adulthood, he finally snapped, and actually managed to captivate one of his brothers, and when Mizarus saw, he was absolutely furious.

the beating was swift and severe, before Sazarii cried out for him to stop, only for him to turn his anger onto her. "Deceiving conniving whore! That's why you didn't want me to kill that wretched little bastard when it was born. You wretched Siren whore!"

She knew she'd been found out then and swiftly swam past Mizarus and grabbed Kaerio, taking him to his tiny room, where she barricaded the door.

"Mother.. please what's going on? your a siren? What's wrong with me?"
"forgive me my sweet child, I did not think you would show powers else I'd have taught you control. But you cannot stay he will kill you. Run Kaerio. Run far away and never come back!" She begged him. "You are half siren, never forget that. I love you dearly even though you are not a daughter. But please RUN!" She said as she held back the barricade against Mizarus and his guards.


Kaerio swam fast as he could out of a window, having nothing but a single pack with few supplies.. The last thing he heard of his mother's voice was a scream.

Since 15 he learned how to fend for himself, fish and hide, he took interest in jewelry after finding some in a wreckage and for a decade he learned how to mold and shape it using his magic. It turned out land walkers liked these, so when he figured out his land form, he went to markets nearby docks, he learned the common speak fairly quickly, learned how to barter and trade. Sure he knew he overpaid for things, but it was fine. He didn't need the jewels.

at 27 however. His life flipped upside down in a way. he had found an isle called Guilderheim, it was interesting and had a dock, however he was captured in a fishing net, and sold to the tether. Into enslavement, which as he came to learn, was how his father used to treat him. A slave. For the first 6 months he fought and raged, but his magic was cut off with one of their collars.

He ended up being saved from that by a man, he loved Kaerio, though Kaerio kept it far secret that he was a siren. No one would ever know if he had his way. the man freed Kaerio, and married him, leaving Kaerio finally happy for once in his life.

Then.. then it happened

What they dubbed the end of days. It stole his husband away from him, he spent weeks searching, calling.. He had nightmares, suffered PTSD from it. A kind soul used kind words and gentle touch to help him through it. This became a friend he would lose contact with over time.

at 35 he became a slave again, the how's weren't really discovered, he ended up in the aquatic pen once more.

And the rest they say is history~

Sirei is a being within Kaerio's mind. Though she has her own personality and thoughts separate from Kaerio. Sirei is often noted with the following Physical changes: more Stormy lavender/ Storm Gray eyes with slits, sharper canines, & elongated nails. She is unable to take control of Kaerio's body unless Kaerio himself goes to sleep, thus letting go of his mental wards long enough for her to use the body until he wakes.

As of current, Kaerio is aware that Sirei is an active personality in his mind and since she used his body to harm a patron he cares for greatly, Ailuin, Kaerio steadfastly refuses others to take off his magical restraint collar, and refuses to sleep unbound at night. This has frustrated Sirei to absolutely no end.
