  • History

    Reina was born the third child in her family, with an elder brother and sister. Her father died of illness shortly after she was born, her mother lived for several years before joining him. She and her siblings were taken in by a friend of their parents, and were raised helping out with the business that couple ran. Circumstances and the state of their world meant that they did less savory business as well as things on the level, and so Reina grew up with a slightly skewed sense of morality and a dour take on the law and its enforcers.

    When she was a child, she, her brother, and a few others survived a rare but catastrophic incident. these survivors all gained the same trait - they canceled all fantastical powers simply by being near them. as time went on, those few survivors began to vanish with very little indication of what fate they met. Reina herself has avoided that fate...so far.

  • Abilities and Equipment

    Reina is an athletic woman, showing an amount of strength, agility, and stamina that only the most fit of humanity possess. She is well versed in parkour, pickpocketing, lockpicking, sneaking around, breaking and entering...the sort of things one would expect from a phantom thief. She also has reasonable skill with her baton and daggers, and in hand-to-hand. She's no professional fighter, but she can hold her own in a bar brawl or a back alley scuffle.

    Perhaps most notable of all is her nullifying aura. This renders any supernatural ability unusable within four feet of her person. Spells fizzle, transformations become unusable, and otherwise powerful creatures find themselves reduced to mortal limitations. This aura will not kill a magical creature, merely lock its abilities and make it feel unwell. It cannot be controlled, lessened, or turned off - it merely *is*. There are no exceptions to it - baleful and benign effects are all canceled by her mere presence. This power also allows Reina to see through illusion magic - though often times she doesn't realize there was an illusion in the first place, which can make for interesting conversations.

    Reina carries the following on her person:
      Several daggers; three tucked on her belt at her lower back, one in each boot, and another four or so tucked away under her coat
      A set of a dozen throwing knives on her belt
      A set of tools for thievery; lockpicks, a crowbar, a small mallet, the works
      A grappling hook and rope, to help with quick escapes
      A travel pack, which she rarely lets out of her sight
      A wooden baton with a metal core; the only piece of gear she has that isn't mundane. The metal is warped and tainted by the same incident that affected Reina herself, giving it the same ability to break through spells and other supernatural effects. the baton's heft and solid construction make it ideal for breaking bones, caving skulls, or stopping blades. it is kept strapped to her belt at all times, in easy reach
