Auberion the Wrapped

NAME: Auberion, Progenitor of the Weave Elves
Officially a Drow, Auberion dreams of becoming an entirely different species of Elf of his own make. As the first Weave Elf, he titles himself as such.

GENDER: Male
In Drow society, males are second class citizens, a fact Auberion has to face every time he deals with his kind.

RACE: Drow
Drow, also known as dark elves, are a dark-skinned sub-race of elves that predominantly lives in the Underdark. They are hated and feared due to their cruelty, though some non-evil and an even smaller number of good drow exist.

In many ways, the drow resemble elves. Their bodies are wiry and athletic, while their faces were chiseled and attractive. Drow are shorter and thinner than other sub-races of elves. It is believed that females are generally bigger and stronger than males.

Drow live in a matriarchal society, lead by the teachings of Lolth, the Spider Queen. While she rules with an iron grip, the Drow are not inherently evil. Some individuals manage to break through their society's conditioning, though such cases are rare as there is nowhere to go for these Dark Elves who are hated by both their own kind and the surface world.

DEITY: Eilistraee
Eilistraee is the chaotic good Drow goddess of beauty, song, dance, freedom, moonlight, swordwork, and hunting, within the Drow pantheon known as the Dark Seldarine. She is the patroness and protector of the few dark elves who longed to return to the surface and live there, at peace with other races, and to abandon the endless conflicts and intrigues that dominated the lives of most Drow. She is often referred to as the The Dark Maiden.

Auberion believes his pale skin colour to be a blessing of Eilistraee, as if he were Moon touched. As a divine soul Sorcerer he attributes his natural magic ability to her and reveres her as if she were his mother.

CLASS: Divine Soul Sorcerer
Sometimes the spark of magic that fuels a sorcerer comes from a divine source that glimmers within the soul. Having such a blessed soul is a sign that your innate magic might come from a distant but powerful familial connection to a divine being.

A Divine Soul, with natural magnetism, is seen as a threat by some religious hierarchies. As an outsider who commands celestial power, these sorcerers can undermine the existing order by claiming a direct tie to the divine.

When Auberion was born, he fulfilled what his family claims was a prophecy of Eilistraee; a child born of moonlight to guide the Drow to a better life. As the young man grew up, he came to interpret his prophecy as something different than his parents had intended, believing the Spider Queen's clutches are too deeply ingrained in the Drow. Auberion believes he has to get rid of the Drow to make way for a new race of Elves he would create using his God given powers.

BUILD: Slender
Though generally hidden under his clothes, Auberion is frail. He plays this aspect up when he wants people to believe he is sick.

AGE: 354 years old
In Elven terms, Auberion is a full blown adult, nearing elder status. He has seen civilisations come and go throughout the years and has learned to distance himself from close ties as he'll outlive them all.

HAIR: Long, white
Auberion's hair long and dry like straw, another aspect he plays up to look sickly.

SKIN: Milky white
Though he was born with this skin tone, Auberion has to hide it from his fellow Drow who would certainly see it as blasphemy. He circumvents these assumptions by wrapping himself up in bandages and appearing sickly. Auberion claims Mummy Rot afflicts him, which is a disease known to change one's skin tone to a sickly pale. This explanation is generally enough to have most people stay far away from him, which suits the sorcerer just fine.

EYES: Red
Red is not an uncommon colour among the Dark Elves.

ALIGNMENT: Lawful evil
Auberion believes himself a hero, willing to make the hard choices no one else dares make. While he is willing to do incredibly vile things to achieve his goal, such as torture, forced experimentation and kidnapping, he keeps a personal set of laws and holds himself to a code. He is friendly, patient and believes that all the horrid, evil things he does will, in the end, make for a better world.

He has a more timeless perception of the world than the shorter lived races. The lives of the few getting snuffed out is worth it if it can save millions. He lives by that creed and takes no pleasure in any of his schemes, even if they involve the hated Drow.

PERSONALITY: Obsessive, patient, delusional
Auberion is a schemer with a lot of time to see his plans get fulfilled. Everything he does is to further his own agenda. However, he is not unpleasant to deal with. He is polite and generally has a great respect for individuals. But in the end people are just another step on the ladder to achieve his goals, no matter how much he might cherish them.

Auberion does a lot of mental gymnastics to clear his mind of any wrongdoing. Because of this he might come over as a man with excuses, despite truly believing his intentions are pure. He is quick to use the same logic on the people he cares for or needs to complete his schemes. Auberion treasures loyalty above all else. Anyone who can see his delusional point of view is sure to be in his good graces.
