Sybil de Mowbray

Sybil was born on a warm August day in 1809 to the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk. As the third child, and as a girl, she had never expected that she would one day succeed her parents. Both of her brothers were much older than her, and the oldest fell during the Seventh Napoleonic War, leaving the second son, Arthur, to assume the responsibility as Duke after his father, who succumbed to sickness shortly after the oldest son.

Sybil was a sickly child. When she was 4 years old, she suffered from a terrible disease in her lungs, that she could not shake. Arthur, who had always taken it upon himself to protect his younger sister, found the thought of her death unbearable. While the Duke and Duchess were willing to accept the fate of their daughter, Arthur was not. After having reached out to every doctor and specialist without luck, he secretly struck a bargain with the Fae Folk, ensuring his sisters health. After the bargain was struck, Arthur watched Sybil as she became healthier by the hour, and was delighted over time to find that she never again caught even a slight cough or cold.

As Arthur assumed the role as Duke after his father, Norfolk thrived and saw a prosperous economical growth. Sybil took great interest in Arthur's work on the estate, especially the financial part of it. With her logical mind and keen eye for investments, Norfolk's wealth grew in their collaboration. When Arthur suddenly died in a horse riding accident, it was up to Sybil to carry on his legacy. Many suitors expressed their interest in taking her as a wife, but she unconsciously decided that she would have none of them, unwilling to trade her current position in for the one as wife and mother.
