Kalel

Kalel is a lefika morshin with southern dragon an gryphon heritage. She usually stands on her hind legs but can run quickly on all four too. Her face is soft with wrinkles around her eyes and nose. Her fur is a gradient of natural beige, white, and is very curly. She has large feathered wings, a curly wolf-like tail, and long ears with tassels at the end.

Her fur is very curly and dense. Her fur coat becomes lighter in the summer.

An old soul who has seen the horrors of battle against vicious windiages of the Aurix Caesin. She has endured emotional distress, seeing many innocent Ptithians die in the jaws of foul beasts. She is kind and generous, for she did not grow up well-off and has remained humble. She is motherly and protective, having raised an adopted taroot and eventually having a cub of her own before she lost the love of her life. In her many years she has accomplished what she wanted to do and lives quietly in Psollo, adoring her son and her indoor garden.

Kalel is a resident of Kilaan City, where she rests in a nice mountainslope cottage.
She is an old soul, having worked as a border patrol in the expanding buildingport on the edge of northeast Tucruitora territory; a project to defend the kingdom and Meldra Mesa from any possible windiages (and other monsters) coming in from the Aurix. She was an adept crossbow marksman and even kept a gearlock in her pack. She witnessed other soldiers get torn to shreds from windiages that snuck through barriers in the dead of night, saw tree roots engulf and friendly faces dissapear within hours of venturing into the amber forest.
She retired from her solider position and moved to Falhart, wanting an escape. She closely befriended a gryphon, Tanaka, and helped her care for a rescued taroot (young Midowe) whenever she could. Kalel got a small job as a lodge caretaker, cleaning up and fixing a few houses that overlooked the lavender fields on the edge of the town. She met a sweet lefika named Zetmu and had her son, Vorage.
Kalel did not want Vorage to grow up in Falhart, nor did she want to stay much longer, it was not the escape she intended it to be. She moved her family to Kilaan City, Psollo, but Zetmu did not fair well in the cold deep south. He fell ill a few years later and did not recover. Kalel continued raising Vorage on her own, always reminding him his father loved him. She reentered the lodge career, having pre-built connections, and became a solid worker at a winter lodge in the city.
Eventually Vorage went his own way, Kalel felt tired of the lodge, and she abandoned it all, fully secure to just live a quiet life in her warm home from then on.

FLIGHT

Her large feathered wings make long flights easy, but her endurance is waning.

RANGER

She was an adept crossbow wielder in the past and still has a trained eye for arrow shots. She is also good at aiming gearlocks but has a lot less practice with them.

SON - Vorage

Vorage is Kalel's biological son, his father was Zetmu. The two have a very close relationship because Kalel was all Vorage had for many, many years. He currently works in Kilaan, owning a buinsess that takes in stray companions in hopes to bring them to new homes.

MATE - Zetmu (deceased)

Zetmu was a lefika that Kalel met in Falhart. He was a simple wheat harvester, someone who managed a sector of a large market-power farm. Kalel fell in love with him and they had a son, Vorage. Zetmu, both a lefika and someone who hadn't traveled much in life, was unable to adapt to the chilly weather of Psollo when the family moved. He died from lung complications brought by illness.

GODSON - Midowe

They no longer have contact, but during her early years in Falhart, Kalel helped her friend, Tanaka, in teaching and raising Midowe. Kalel would love to find Midowe again and learn what path he took in life.

FRIEND - Tanaka

Tanaka is a gryphon from Falhart, the one who rescued Midowe. Kalel befriended her over their similar love for indoor gardening. Kalel spent plenty of time with Tanaka and helped her raise and teach the adopted taroot.
