The Raven

  • A Witch of a Woman

    Name: Nisha Harini
    Age: 27
    Gender: Female
    Species: Human...ish? The line on that is a little blurry for Nisha.
    Profession: She's been called many things... Scavenger, Hunter, Witch, and at times, shiftless drifter. Nisha feels there is a little truth in all those titles.
    Allegiances: She is part of a known, but exclusive coven of women known as The Sisterhood of the Hunter's Moon. They are all extremely gifted sorcerers, bestowed magic through their worship of their goddess, and Nisha is no exception to this.
    Deity: They worship an entity they call the Silver Maiden, or the Goddess Moon, Goddess of beasts and survival, the tide and the hunt. They credit her as the source of her power. Nisha is polytheistic and believes in many other gods, but only pledges her loyalty to one.
    Alignment: Somewhere between Chaotic/ Neutral and Chaotic/ Good.


    Abilities: She is an extremely competent sorcerer, and has a close connection to her patron goddess, who, for her devotion, granted her a second form, the form of a Raven that she can take at will. She is also a proficient potion maker, and when she has the luxury of putting down roots for a while, a fairly decent homesteader as well. At her core she is a survivalist, armed with the tools and tenacity she needs to thrive in a world that has shown her very little kindness.
    Weaknesses: Channeling large amounts of magic takes a toll on one's body, and Nisha has a poor constitution because of that. She is not physically strong, her health is, at times frail. Her humanity is somewhat... fractured. The raven is such a part of her now, that she has trouble determining the extremely bleary line between the Raven's nature and her own self.
    Personality: Soft-spoken but don't let that fool you into thinking she's shy. Nisha is a bit of a smartass, a keen thinker, and a decisive and willful person. She is content to keep to herself but isn't unsociable when approached by others. Some find her a bit detached or airy but she's actually quite vigilant, the detachment more a way of guarding her thoughts and intentions than a reality. She can be an incredibly kind ally and a dangerous enemy though she is difficult to anger and doesn't generally go looking for fights unless she believes she can win them. She admires those with a strong fighting spirit, something she calls the intuition of a hunter which is harder to define.
    Mannerisms: Her attention seems to wander often, she can sleep almost anywhere, she has a lot of bird-like mannerisms, both in and out of Raven form. She has trouble with hypervigilance and trusting people.

    Hair: Black with dark brown highlights in the right light.
    Eyes: Greenish brown
    Complexion: Brown/ Tan, generally unblemished though she does have the odd freckle or mole here and there.
    Notable Markings: She has a waning moon carved into her back right between her shoulder blades.
    Height: 5'6
    Weight: 115 LBS
    Scent: She smells of sweet burning sage, and in her Raven form, distinctly like a crisp Autumn breeze.

    Orientation:Heterosexual
    Relationships: None so far
    Family: Her Biological family are unknown to her and somewhat unimportant to her, all she knows was that she was brought into her Coven as an infant. She knows nothing about the circumstances of that day. There are members of the Sisterhood she counts as her family but having taken to hiding, she is unsure if any of them are still alive or not.

  • The Sisterhood

    The Sisterhood of the Hunter's moon is an exclusive, and secretive cult of loosely connected covens of witches expanding across a vast continent. While each coven worships in their own way, all of them united in at least one thing...Their service and devotion to The Goddess Moon, Goddess of the Hunt, Survival, and the Tide. From her, they are said to derive great power.

    Not much is known about the inner workings of The Sisterhood of the Hunter's Moon, but there is a lot of speculation and fearmongering surrounding their practices. There are millions of tall tales told at their expense, some of them with grains of truth in them, and others that had been twisted with falsehoods and rumor, and exaggeration. There are common threads in these stories though, a group of women spirited away as children and brought up in service of their elders, and the Deity they praised. In exchange for their loyalty, and allegedly, their souls, this entity granted them gifts of magical mastery and power, and in rare cases even another form.

    The brazen openness of their god was bound to draw ire though, and with growing speculation and tension, and fearmongering surrounding their practices slipping into the mainstream, it was only a matter of time until things came to a gruesome boiling point.

    That terrible moment came to realization all too soon. The Eratcation, they called it
