Canon RP Info

I generally like to play any of the following:

• Alternative end of Shippuuden/War arc
• Post-Shippuuden (Canon or Alternative timeline)
• Alternative Boruto era
• Post-Boruto era (Canon or Alternative timeline)

Note that for the last item, if playing canon there will need to be some agreement as the series is still ongoing

I generally don't like to play Canon characters (except for one) as I don't feel I can do well to bring out the authenticity of their character. It's like wearing someone else's clothes that really don't fit well to me - just uncomfortable and awkward for myself and everyone else around.

That said, I'm typically fine if someone wants to play a Canon character themselves - as long as it fits our setting, and is at least somewhat realistic for that character (ie the trope of Madara suddenly becoming 'good' far too quickly - if anything, I'd expect him to remain stubborn, a critic, and a bit of an ass at the very least). I generally like things to have a dose of realism and of course keep some adventure/action, silly/funny moments once in a while, and so on. However, I'm not a fan of bringing 'anime moments' into RP, at least certainly not regularly (ie exaggerated reactions, certain behavioral tropes, etc). I definitely prefer the realism to 'filler-esque' material in roleplay...

As far as events, if we're keeping to a canon timeline/setting I'm not expecting someone to know everything up to that point - it's a big long series (with a lot of filler) so there's of course flexibility here. If anything, we'd touch base when figuring out what setting and story we want to rp, and if something came up during the course of play I'd likely just send you a message OOC to touch base and make sure we're on the same page to go forward.

For now, I'll just include a couple custom ideas. More to come sooner or later.

Alternative War Arc
So a lot of people really aren't fans of how this arc ended, and I have two ideas with regards to this. The first is that the whole introduction of Kaguya is completely ignored/never happens, and instead will remain more as background/mystery elements. Madara can get close to his goal, but either never achieves that Third Eye needed or it gets damaged beyond repair/use or destroyed in the course of fighting. This could then have an actual final face-off between him and Hashirama, which can result in a different end to war or any number of possible outcomes. Basically anything beyond the point of the IT not actually being able to happen and ignoring anything canonical after the Third Eye's appearance could be an option here. This would be background to an alternative future, with the descendants of shinobi and a very different storyline/setting. This does put virtually everything up in the air, so will need some discussion to sort things out.

Alternative End of Shippuuden
Following on from the idea above, this instead would basically be the same as what we see in the anime all the way up to the point of the Black Zetsu's betrayal of Madara. At this point, rather than throwing out a somewhat mindless and lackluster-personality of Kaguya, it would have her struggling over the course of the fight with the Black Zetsu. By this I mean, it would be a more natural lead-in by making the Black Zetsu even more of a liar - it was never Kaguya's will, but that of the partner she came to this world with (and tried to kill/betray) that exists as something of a living curse to try and force her to complete the work of harvest. So in short, there'd be more opportunity to get background information, she'd have a very different character, personality, and motivations; and there's a much bigger chance that Madara would be able to survive - or not, or just that he'd have an opportunity to have a much better evolution of his character overall. There's a lot up in the air and possible with this alternative scenario, and I'm very open to discussing it further! I will note too, that this could just be background setting for an OC-focused story, or could be more of that or a main focus with canon characters at play.

Lastly, I'll note that this is one of my favorite headcanons due to the many possibilities it opens up going forward - I have some additional ideas going off this, so feel free to ask especially if you're open to including canon characters directly or in a more NPC-like fashion here.

Ah yes, powerscaling - a long-standing point of hot debate for the series.

The golden rule is of course, to avoid powerplay/godmodding - basically just give characters the chance to react, always!


On a more detailed note, I generally like to create a page for my character's abilities. This can be updated as we go through the RP, and as our characters typically will be on the same team (though I will also play the opposite if desired); it's important to know their abilities and where those stand. I've left a sample document below, and tend to be generally flexible so long as the golden rule is upheld.
