Matteo de Cavilleri

Born out of wedlock to the head of an Florentine upper class banking family and the young, wild daughter of a wealthy family with familial ties to French nobility.

Spent majority of his childhood in France as his father’s wife did not want her husband’s bastard in her home.

Went by the alias of Bastian Du Pont, taking his mother’s maiden name while he resided in France as the two families wished to keep the affair and Mattel’s parentage secret.

His mother who was quite young when he had him, was not at all maternal, and did not pay any attention to her son. Often referred to him as a younger cousin or ward their family had adopted.

Was sent to summer with his Father in Florence during his early adolescence, and on and off lived with them after his Grandmother had passed and his mother grew bored of having him around.

Has fractured relationships with both of his parents, as well as his half brother, and has a one-sided love/hate relationship towards his half sister.

Father almost disowned him and cut him off on more than one occasion, only stopping himself due to business ties with his Mother’s family and because his favoured daughter begged him not to.

Was outed to his family by a male tutor who had manipulated the young man into a relationship in order to blackmail his father into providing him with a high paying job post within the Florentine government.

Moonlights as basically a sugar baby to wealthy men in order to gain his own money so that he can become financially independent and not be thrown on the street penniless when his father inevitably disowns him for good.
