AppearanceThough standing at 6'5" and made of a strength that most would shiver at, their nature is the opposite of imposing; in fact, they bear kind azure eyes that glimmer with faith, and welcome all who interact with them at first glance with grace and a gentle voice. Magical scars run up and down their body as evidence that where enemies have failed to land a weapon's mark on them, they resorted to arcane trickery instead; the sear of a Bestow Curse marks their throat, and a set of eldritch blasts still leaves permanent, multi-coloured burns into their skin, never to heal. Their most prominent set of burns is one that runs up their right arm, and form words to read 'worthy' in ancient, runic dwarvish, which can only be earned through self-sacrifice in a lethal, ritualistic burning, and surviving said fire.

Born into House Warde (which was more the Library's own collection of personal guardians) as a family of protectors to the shapers of history and fate, Caelan's focus first and foremost is the safety of their charge and closest friend, Syrkys Wright. As a person, they are quick and receptive to even the slightest change in the emotions of others, sensitive to the most minor fluctuations in tone. Subtlety is not a language lost on them and is not usually ignored, for Caelan would bridge conflict with proper communication where necessary before resorting to conflict, unless of course steel was bared first; as much as they are shapers of the world, they are keepers of knowledge, and Caelan represents the bulwark of they who stand 'twixt enlightenment and ignorance. Nevertheless, a custodian always came with a chronicler by their side, and Caelan had always deferred their judgement to Syrkys to the point of lowering themself; humility is the Warde's strongest point, but at times they would take it a step too far. As of late, their eyes have awakened unto a calling that differs from the path set out to them by the Library of Worlds, one that was written for them by their betters, by their father, and by their father's father before them; they would become a Soulseer, one who reads the hearts and souls of others. It is still an art they have yet to hone with no master to guide them, yet this is an art that the Library is keen for them to pursue for all knowledge is to be coveted and kept, and not abandoned for simple duty's sake alone.
