Zetram is a very focused man who zeroes in on the task at hand with an almost kill or be killed type of attitude. This can push him to do grim and destructive things in order to achieve his goals.

  • Appearance

    Unlike most Wardens of the Eye, Zetram prefers to remain inconspicuous. There are no frills or colorful dyes to his repertoire. Save a worn out crimson scarf, his durable leathers are reinforced with protective iron plates, making him look more like a huntsmen than an esteemed Royal Officer.

    On his travels, he is never without his grayish-silver, outdoorsman's coat with matching tricorn hat, both of which are reinforced with mythril plating and chain mail.

  • Machinist-Artificer

    A Machinist-Artificer is a Jack-of-all-trades repairman, who is resourceful enough to bring out the full potential of any mechanism. They also have the ability to temporarily imbue inanimate objects with magic.

    This is a rare title appointed to those who’ve successfully graduated from the Academy of Cognitive Machinery and served under the elite class of Orem’s engineering naval corp.

    Machinists specialize in long range firearms and demolitions. As an artificer, Zetram is able to repair his tools and create ammunition with the necessary resources. He can even infuse ammunition with magical projectile damage, and imbue weapons and armor with runes and enchantments.

    This profession is very resource and tool dependent. Each tool, be it a hammer, screwdriver, or wrench, needs a rune to transfer whatever its magical properties are, onto the select item. And even though the combination of runes and conduit tools is an exact science, the intended effect isn’t always guaranteed to work.

  • History

    Zetram is a royal officer known as the Warden of the Eye, an intelligence branch that operates directly with the crown. It is rare for a lower tier nobleman to have acquired such a station, but his work and record speak for themselves.

    He was first knighted into the King’s Guard for his valiant efforts during The Airship Wars of Verdaun as a mechanic from the engineering corp. The ship he was assigned to, The Scimitar, spearheaded a suicidal attack maneuver that changed the tide of battle in Orem’s favor.

    In the King’s Guard, he served as an apprentice under Smith Lord Justus Kobold, one of the great inventors and innovators of our time. Zetram was not a genius like his mentor, but his ability to analyze and deconstruct complex machinations proved an invaluable skill.

    Justus was the wild freethinker, and Zetram made sure those ideas were grounded in realism. Together, they oversaw the kingdom’s infrastructure by incorporating dwarven technology acquired in Orem’s expansion after the war. During this revolutionary period, Zetram’s knack for detective work blossomed. Dwarven tech contained valuable resources, often rare ores only found deep in the Northern mines. This made them prime targets for bandits and illegal privateers.

    Zetram operated on his own accord to track down missing tech. This eventually uncovered a grand scheme by a Thieving Guild who was selling the stolen goods to Orem’s rival territories. While the core members disappeared, the guild’s operation was thwarted thanks to Zetram’s efforts.

    This achievement caught the attention of the Warden of the Eye, who reluctantly approved the Royal Court’s request for his induction into their ranks. His nobility was a firm point of contention, but the Queen’s recommendation (spurred by Lord Smith Justus and other members of the court) could not be denied.

    Zetram has since been involved in several investigations throughout the Kingdom of Orem, but this next one will prove to be the most difficult of his career.

  • Homunculus Companion

    The syrisquito is a small insectoid device often used as a probe to survey hard-to-access areas. It is controlled with the Mind Rune when attached to Zetram’s goggles, allowing him to control its movement, and see what it sees.

    It also can absorb or release any liquid substance with its stinger.
