Katerina Kamina Minamino

Katerina was born to demon father Koryuma Jiten Minamino, who is just a Wolf Demon by trade. Kat's unnamed mother, though, was what is known as Bakemono Youkai in the traditional Japanese. Monster Demon in English. Even among Demons, Kat's mother's race are monsters.

Bakemono Youkai: A race of demons capable of reaching unprecedented amounts of power. When they reach the age of 15,000 years, they are nearly unstoppable. Bakemono is a recessive trait, and it is very rare for a Bakemono to be born between two demons unless both are Bakemono, but in the case of a Bakemono mating with a human, the child is either fully human or takes on the DNA the Bakemono was utilizing at the time of birth, and is born a hanyou(half-demon) of that breed. In some cases, the offspring of a Bakemono and human pairing can be born as a Bakemono hanyou. In Kat's case, she was a 1 in 10,000 rarity birth. None of Kat's siblings were born as Bakemono Youkai. Bakemono can copy the DNA of any living thing they encounter and gain the physical attributes and powers(depending on whether the creature is a demon or not) of that being. Most Bakemono lose the attributes or powers after a week's time. In very rare and special cases, however, a Bakemono can be born with a photographic memory. When that happens, the physical attributes and powers become ingrained in the Bakemonos' psyche(and perhaps even their own DNA) for the rest of their lives.

The younger a Bakemono is and the less familiar with a particular DNA strand they are, the longer it takes for their body to shift between DNA. A young Bakemono can take anywhere from 15-20 minutes to shift between DNA. This is punctuated even more devastatingly by the fact that normal Bakemono lose their access to DNA after a week. At Kat's age, 7,132, she has managed to get her shifting time down to around 2-4 minutes. Considering her familiarity with her fox demon and wolf demon DNA, it only takes her a minute to shift between them. She is also the most familiar with her ice demon DNA, and it also only takes her a minute to shift into that particular DNA. The rest are all fairly familiar, but not enough to the point that she can shift faster between them and other DNAs.

As it stands, when a Bakemono reaches the age of 15,000 years, they no longer have limitations on shifting. Being able to almost immediately shift into any DNA acquired without hesitation. Combat is much easier and swifter at this age. Normal Bakemono at this age still cannot keep DNA acquired for longer than a week's time, but they also have an easier time copying DNA with only a second of a touch. But for Bakemono with a photographic memory? Being this age makes them a literally devastating combat opponent. You would not want to pick a fight with a Bakemono who was 15,000 years old or older. Bakemono cannot copy DNA already copied by another Bakemono; meaning that they cannot touch another Bakemono and copy DNA from them.

Kat is one such Bakemono with a photographic memory. Although, Kat is extremely unusual, even among the Bakemono Youkai. For her parents were not her true parents.

Kat's true parents are God and the Devil before she was exiled from Heaven to become what she became. Born through the same process as her true brother, Jesus, she was birthed by surrogate parents, the Demons that she came to know and respect. However, this process also differed from Jesus since He was born through immaculate conception in the woman. Kat was actually implanted into the 'seed' of Koryuma right before he impregnated his demon wife. Koryuma's wife was the Bakemono demon.

But Kat didn't take the easy way out and let God give her the powers she may have needed. Every new DNA strand she absorbed and integrated into her person, she trained. Harshly. Even upon accidentally absorbing the DNA of a human and gaining those blue eyes(hers were originally red, like her twin sister, Kuryo's), she kept training every other aspect of her Demonic nature.

Because of that human DNA, she is more human than Demon. She prefers her fox demon or wolf demon DNA, and those are the two forms she remains in most often. But she can switch DNA mid-battle and uses her powers to their utmost when she has to. She can also transform into animals through her more beastly demon forms. She uses those in battle, as well.

She is a skilled young Bakemono and is powerful for her age because of how she was born and what she is.

At age 1,029, she accidentally copied the DNA of a Vampire and a Werewolf when they mistook her for a human wandering the boundary line between their lands. Both took a bite from her, and she copied their DNA. In this case, the DNA copying is a little different since a Vampire and a Werewolf don't have a choice in whether or not they get to be a Vampire or a Werewolf. This counterbalances transformations on full moon nights, and she turns into a wolf only, not the monster one would expect of a Werewolf. She also cannot eat regular food, at least not always. There are times when she can get some food from the human realm in her system(especially since she is kind of like a half-demon because of the human DNA copied in her system and transforms into a human once a month on the waxing crescent), but mostly she has to eat raw meat or drink blood to sustain herself.

To date, she has copied DNA from nearly every type of demon you can think of, birds, beasts, elementals, telekinetics. All kinds. She hasn't mastered them all, but she is working her way to mastery of every DNA strand in her. She can change her hair and ear colors, plus tail and eye colors, at will due to the nature of all the DNA she has in her. As with her hair, tail, ears, and eyes, she can change her skin tone, and even her body type. Theoretically, if she gets the transformation right, she can become a completely different person. Again, this is due to all of the different DNA within her. She can only change her scent if she changes what type of demon she is.

Kat, through her age, has witnessed many a cataclysmic event in our world. The Fires of Pompeii, World War 1, Titanic. And many others that she doesn't care to name.

She did have a relatively peaceful childhood(though her mother abandoned her father, her, her twin sister, and her two younger brothers shortly after the youngest was born) up until her father abandoned she and her siblings in an orphanage when she and her sister looked about 13. Shiro, her younger brother, looked about 12. And the youngest, Nirai, looked about 6. Kat had to take on the role of protector with Kuryo to help protect her two younger siblings from the bullies of the Orphanage. Really, the siblings were in their 200s. Kat and Kuryo at 235, Shiro at 234, and Nirai was only 228. Extremely young for demons of their caliber, and still only children.

Kat still has a ways to go, having been separated from her siblings at a young age. And still somewhat mourns her sister, Kuryo, who was murdered by humans at about 1000 years old. Though Kuryo's spirit does now reside in Kat, the old Kuryo is dead. Because Kuryo now resents humans. Eternally damned and completely evil because of her new resentment for humans because a group of them killed her, Kat tries to keep Kuryo locked away forever and always.

Sadly though, if Kat does get injured emotionally or physically(easy to do emotionally because she has lots of human emotion, however it takes a large amount of stress to pull off), Kuryo takes over. This isn't really out of any plans to take over the world or kill all humans, mind you; she will try it because she has been released. It is out of concern for her sister. Even as an evil, human-resenting, eternally damned demon, she still loves the sister who managed to keep her alive. Even if it is in confinement. So she protects Kat by taking over Kat's body.

She'll never admit it, though.
