Relax... It's only magic
From a very young age David knew he was something special. Because of his magic abilities he often felt superior to his peers growing up. He was always told how important it is to keep his powers hidden. So he did. That never stopped him from using them, though. He just got very good at hiding it when he did use his powers, like most of his kind has learned to. He definitely felt like he had it easy growing up, but as he got older he quickly found out that the world doesn't always look so kindly towards his kind, and that there are people very willing to hurt him.
In order to keep himself and his family safe, David joined a criminal organization, run by his kind, at the age of 21. He's been slowly climbing the ranks ever since. He mostly works alone and he isn't shy about doing what needs to be done in order to keep his people safe. His general line of work is to make sure the general population doesn't uncover the existence of his people, as he has seen what the few powerful people who do know about them, will do to get rid of them or use them. That means that David has killed before and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
David is now 26 years old, and he still loves his special abilities. He is very hateful towards the people that want to harm his kind, and will do anything to make sure his people are safe.
