A bastard to a couple of teenagers that had no interests in marriage than they did a couple of hormonal romps, Serra was left on the steps of a church-sanctioned orphanage by her grandparents. With not even a name attached, she was dubbed Montserrat, after the mountain that led up to the orphanage, however she preferred to be called Serra. Being called her name in full only brought unpleasant memories of discipline and torment. But it didn't start out like so.
โโโOrphanages were sad. At least, typically they were but Serra remembered her childhood home with a bittersweet fondness. Since the day she arrived, she was treated differently amongst the other children. She held promise, she was told again and again. Unlike the other children, she'd reach heights none of them were ever capable to achieve. As a child, these compliments did all to sooth Serra and bring a smile to her face. Back then, she believed the special treatment was in fact because she was better, was more talented, was more worthy than her peers โ as she was often told so. As an adult, Serra grieved from her naivetรฉ.
โโโShe was always just a pawn.
โโโWhen it was discovered that she had an affinity attuned โ no โ overflowing with white magic, Serra would say she lost her life here. Everyone had a potential for mage, but only so many can actually wield it into creation. Serra was capable of such magic, however whatever excitement she initially had quickly faded when she understood the reality of her expectations. Despite her powers being her own, she did not freely possess it. Everything that she's ever possessed, she's learnt, was only possible by the Imperial Church's graces on her.
โโโEnrolled into the Institute of Magic, Serra had little choice of her courses or pass for life as her opportunity to learn magic relied on the sponsorship of the Church supporting her. Mages were desired, however that didn't mean they received free blessings. And thus Serra did as she was instructed by her benefactor, expanding and molding her magic to the specifics of their demands even as the extensive trainings and schedules tired her until she reached the rankings as an archmage through her feats in combat.
โโโIt was with that honor of being archmage that she was dubbed Montserrat de Gloire, however she didn't feel much glory in her position. No more than she felt trapped, used, and diabolic as a tool of her country. First, she started humble. Casting prayers and supporting the soldiers and her peers in battles, but then soon the tasks became warped as Serra was entrenched in the poisoned nest that was the Imperial crown. Protection wasn't enough. It was power that was wanted, and Serra had been aiding in magics corrupt and unholy to provide it.
โโโHow far can one heal? She was challenged. Were her powers so weak that she cannot fight death itself? Who else needed to die to keep her alive? Did her magic make her so superior that the life of others withered in comparison, yet how was it that she achieved nothing of note with such pathetic magic?
โโโBroken and distraught, Serra bitterly accepted the torment, but the guilt was overwhelming. Montserrat de Gloire, her holy powers are renowned and marveled. No only could she heal the wounded and bring back limbs, but she could revive disaster-struck lands, create new life, and... resurrect the dead?
โโโHow long can purity of the soul last until it turns rotten?

As a necromancer, that's expect but her power takes it beyond the known capabilities. Of course, there's a slight hiccup in her ability. Upon resurrecting life, Montserrat has found that more often than not, her targets have no memories of their lives. And so often, these experiments cannot recall much about the world and need to be reintroduced carefully. Sure, she's be able to bodysnatch numerous wealthy and notable nobles, knights, and merchants to control, but what use is that when they become shells of their former selves? Unbeknownst and unwitting of her, Montserrat has been reincarnating souls from other worlds into the bodies of her world. I write in the time that I can allocate for it. Also I need processing time. Some people definitely write and think faster than me, and I'm on the slow side of both. Sometimes the creative flow hits and I'm on a speedy roll when the scene is clear in my mind. Most times, the words need to simmer in my head. Especially as I don't write "small."หแตเณซหณ Being TeacherI understand that this is all just a hobby. I am in no way shaming people who love to roleplay in 1st Person or love short replies. Again, it's a hobby and as a hobby, there's no right or perfect way to enjoy it. So people can absolutely roleplay in those ways โ but I won't. Some people don't care about being articulately accurate in their writing in roleplay and prefer speed and fast action over detail in a longer post. Valid enjoyment! But I don't enjoy that, and I don't volunteer to be anyone's teacher practicing 3rd Person or writing longer/detailed/etc. It is a hobby and I don't want to spend my time critiquing or answering questions every other post. I'm not the person for that. I simply want to roleplay with people already well versed in 3rd Person and enjoy long-flexible posts like myself.
