Kenku (aka Ravenfolk) IN SPACE!
This character was made for high-energy fun space-adventures. He was originally created for (but isn't bound to) Magehand's "Dark Matter" Setting, which is basically D&D in Spaaaaace.

In the future, a rogue kenku was hunted by a variety of military-units, police officers and syndicates for crimes he certainly did commit. This ravenfolk promptly escaped from the law, both official and underworld into the anarchy of one of many free-ports. Today, still wanted by more than one government, he survives as soldier of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him,maybe you can hire Jet-Roar.
There is a 50/50 chance it might improve your situation and only a 20/80 chance of making the problem worse!

Jet-Roar (simplified, his true name sound like a starting spaceship engine and is thus, unpronounceable to most non-kenku) is the son of a pilot and a perky mechanic. He inherited his father's love for space, and some of his mother's passion for machines also rubbed off on him.
His true mentor was the famous-space pirate Robert though. He taught him everything he needed to know about piloting a ship, surviving ship-to-ship battles, fencing with energy weapons and even brushed up the pickpocket skills of Jet's misspent youth.
The day Robert was gunned down on a space port and his ship was blown up, Jet swore bitter revenge.
But there is just so much to do! So far Jet's detours included a casino-robbery, a rebellion against a fascist empire with varying degrees of failure, a fight against bounty hunters, and a lot, and I mean a lot running away.

Standing 5 ft 2 tall, Jet is large for a Kenku but short for the most other humanoid races. He is a lightweight. His feathers have a ruffled, bluish-black tone, his claws and beaks are toned in a dark grey.
It is rare for his eyes not to sparkle with some kind of mischief.
Like all Kenku, he lacks his own voice. Instead, he has a huge memory of sound-bites, words or sentences he had overheard.
He can recreate almost any sound perfectly with his beak. A very expressive body-language aids the burning wreck that are his communication-attempts.

He really likes ponchos, because ponchos are cool. The one he's wearing most of the time is red, is also a subtle light nanofibre-armor, that tones down laser-blast-hits from "you're being burned to a crisp" to "you're well done".
Some other tools of his trade he prefers to carry around all time: A blaster-repeater, an everflaming dagger, a set of modern thieves' tools (he has to be prepared if he ever sees a spaceship he likes).
If things smell like trouble, he goes in with a little more gear: a fully automatic blaster-pistol, a second flaming dagger, a regular dagger (they are just so convenient to hide from most scanners, that just check for energy weapons) and bulky night vision googles.

Property is a vague concept for a thief like Jet. Usually, there is just stuff and he takes it. This philosophy makes it hard for him to hold onto a ship on his own - he usually flies them like he stole 'em, because that is just what he did.
He owned the "Bird of Prey" 1 till 3, and the "Bird of Prey IV" is whatever single-pilot starship had the worst security last time he needed to leave a spaceport in a hurry.
