Temenos Mistral

Personality:

Temenos’s role as an inquisitor leads to him having a self-assured mask that he often tries to don, as he believes that due to his rank he doesn’t have the luxury of showing grief, emotion and pain in front of others. He often seems confident and self assured to the general public, even going as far as using sharp retorts to disguise his mental state. Despite his mask, however, he has a playful side, often teasing others if he finds amusement in it.

Despite being a devout follower of his god, Temenos’s faith is bourne from doubt, and he cares little about being blasphemous, even doubting the intentions of the very gods he is meant to worship. He struggles to trust others, always fearing for ulterior motives and trying to analyse the intentions and beliefs of others. When he’s active in his Inquisitor work he can be surprisingly brutal at times, willing to resort to violence and even breaking others to get the information he desires. All this is done, as he believes, for the greater good, especially if the case has risk of murder involved.

Headcanons:

- habitually uses hand gestures to illustrate his words, sometimes theatrically.
- MELTS in summer and sunburns in like 0.2 seconds.
- very feminine so is often mistaken for a woman. Surprisingly, he suits dresses.
- albino, as seen by his bleached features.
- despite his attempts to keep on a calm facade, he gets flustered very easily if he’s praised.
- can be dominant
- due to being albino, he has eyedrops that he needs to take daily in order to keep his eyesight strong.
- struggles at times when it comes to flirting because he has a hard time differentiating it from ill intent or kindness (on the rare occasions when he does flirt)
- also shows traits of autism, even if it isn’t diagnosed. He hyperfixates on his cases, and has a hard time showing emotions through his mask, for example

Temenos is incredibly intelligent and is good at solving mysteries, often bearing a lazer-sharp focused until he gets the case complete. This also works for his job as an Inquisitor as well, as he can be tenacious when it comes to gaining information out of people- something he considers himself an expert at. Unfortunately, many of his attempts to 'gain information' consist of breaking others, which can consist of violence or magick use.

He is also charismatic, and skilled when it comes to public speaking.

Temenos as a child was a bit of a drifter, growing up with a traveling family who eventually split up to go their own separate ways after an argument when he was only ten. Growing aimless due to this he began to pick up various odd jobs, hoping to find a place he could call his own- and a stable lifestyle- now that it was up to him to take care of himself. It was after he found his way to Flamechurch and began to help them out with various menial tasks that Pontiff Jorg found him, and respecting the lone boy's efforts, he was given a place in the church.

After this the Pontiff became like a father to Temenos, and not just him- the other clerics all helped to chip in to raise the boy. In this sense he began to see many of the other clerics as family, and Flamechurch became his perfect little home- a shielded sanctuary. Around fifteen he began to show an interest in crime and he began to quickly work towards becoming the church's Inquisitor, something which he proved his mettle for during a harsh case that came up when he was seventeen. After this trial he won the rank, and Pontiff Jorg gave him the title of inquisitor, seeing him as competent despite his age.

Yet, when he was in his early twenties, this perfect little utopia shattered. More and more threads began to seem off about the overall puzzle, and the originally curious man began to grow uneasy, deluded by the shadows lurking behind the background curtains. As the ghost of a conspiracy began to unwrap itself around the church, the Inquisitor began an investigation on his own into the very church that raised him, fearing there was more to them than meets the eye.... A long investigation that still carries on to this day. Feeling his trust wane towards the very church that raised him, he pressed on, hoping to find the truth.

This was only compounded when, only recently, one of the church's fellow inquisitors- Roi- rushed into his room late at night, showing him a twisted weapon only known as the Darkblood Bow. He warned Temenos of the dark secrets that the church was hiding, and told him to continue on the investigation should he not return. Roi was never seen again, leaving even more of a dark shadow of doubt over the man's mind.
