I didn't grow up so fast ━━━━༻❁༺━━━━ For many years, Aurora Emily Delaney had the perfect life. She came from a loving family; she came from money and there was never any love missing. Everything changed when Aurora turned 4 years old. Her father had had an affair with her nanny. Her parents should had gotten a divorce, but instead her mother stayed. They adopted the child, fired the nanny and pretended everything was fine, except it wasn’t. Her mother turned cold and bitter, she would often snap at Aurora if she did anything wrong, she wasn’t allowed to play with her baby sister, she wasn’t even allowed to talk to her. Her father had to protect his new child, so he forgot Aurora. All the love he used to give her, now went to her baby sister. Aurora was all the sudden alone. She remembers one time when she was 10. She had this beautiful dollhouse, a dollhouse she loved with her entire heart. She wanted to play with her sister, so she sneaked into her room with the dollhouse. When her mother found out, she was so angry, that she threw out the dollhouse, her father did nothing. No no, her father ended up buying a dollhouse for her sister when she turned 6 instead. The once confident and vibracious young girl, turned sad and shy. If her own parents could so easily forget her, so would everyone else surely. Aurora never really had any friends growing up, and the few she had, would often leave her, to be friends with her more liked and popular little sister. Her sister turned mean and vindicated. She would bully Aurora every chance she gets, saying how could anyone love her, when even her own father preferred her sister over Aurora? When she turned 16, her parents sent her to a boarding school, they said it was for her education, but Aurora knew better, it was to get rid of her. She was the reminder of her parents once happy marriage, and either of them could stand it. It should have been the other way around, her sister was the product of infidelity, but no she got to stay. It turned Aurora bitter and sad. She has trouble letting people in, just counting the days for her to leave her parents and family behind. As soon as she turned 18 and graduated, she left her home. Her parents did try to contact her. Her mother would often write how much she hated her father, and her father would apologize for his behavior, but a little to late for Aurora. She hasn’t seen any of them in 2 years, and she has every intention of never seeing them again. As of now, Aurora is a quite girl. Her walls are as tall as the empire state building. She is cynical when it comes to love, she knows how quickly love can fade and things can change. She finds solace in her books and her cat Jesper. Working as a waitress, putting herself through school, dreaming of a life without pain. She never really feels like she is enough. Always second best. She is loyal, but also very shy. The few friends she has, she sees as her family. She is very soft spoken, loves to bake and not talking to other people. A glass of rosé, a good book and rain is her perfect night in. |
