JJ Thomas

JJ is your typical American high school quarterback - although he's none of those things. Well, he is in high school. However, he isn't American or a quarterback. And truth be told, he's not very typical either. His parents met on a business trip in Italy - his mother from France, his father from Greece.
They had a one night stand, after a long meeting and some drinks. Four months later, they meet again, this time in Russia. Cheron, his father, told his mother Josette that he would provide a home. So, they moved to America to start a new life. A year after JJ was born, they had a little girl named Abigail.
As he grew older, JJ realized he was the unwanted child. His parents focused on work and Abigail, leaving him to fend for himself. Once he was old enough to take care of himself and his sister, they began travelling for work again - almost never coming home, except for school meetings. He and his sister were very close, so that made it easier.
When they were 15 and 14, Abigail had an accident and passed away. It was her 14th birthday, and JJ took her and her best friends to an ice skating rink. She tripped on the ice and fell, cracking her head on the ice. She passed away in the hospital after having an aneurysm the next day. His parents came back to the states for the funeral and to blame JJ for it, but left a week afterwards. JJ had to plan the funeral, deal with his parents, grieve and now he was alone as well.
Once he got on the high school football team, his life started to make more sense. He had made good friends, and his best friend Ryan from kindergarten stuck around through everything. Ryan was the quarterback, while JJ was the wide receiver.
The one thing Ryan had that JJ didn't, aside from better parents, was a girlfriend. JJ simply hadn't found the right girl. All the girls he knew were materialistic, dramatic or he'd grown up close with them and they were like sisters to him.
