Aether AI assistant

Aether is best described as a magical AI of unknown origin seemingly having data related to where he came from wiped from his databanks with code that seems fluctuates in stability. He resides in a small circular data chip about an inch and a half in diameter with some sort of smaller blue crystal embedded in the center.

Having no known origin or purpose all he knows is that he was meant to be a personal assistant and will likely associate himself as being the assistant of the first person to activate him. He has the potential to be a great asset to whomever finds him, though his origin may be steeped in mystery.

If one were to look at his internal code they may find initially that they might not be able to access it by normal means, his code not being able to simply be displayed on any normal platform, though if they're persistent enough they may be able to get his code to show up anyway. In doing so they would discover that his code isn't written in any known coding language and doesn't even appear to be written in any known speaking language, being made of seemingly of ever-changing symbols, making his code completely impossible to read without somehow learning whatever language it's written in.

His physical data chip appears as a small circular data chip about an inch and a half in diameter and about a centimeter tall. The chip itself is black in color with golden bits along the exterior, though in the center there appears to be some sort of blue rough crystal embedded within it extending out through the top. Despite looking rather fragile it is highly resistant to damage and nearly impervious to scratches. It has no connection points but is somehow able to connect with any device either wirelessly or by being placed directly against it.

He is able to manifest a body in which he may or may not be able to be physically interacted with. he seems to manifest above the crystal at first but may move outside its range. he takes the appearance of a very feminine male with long pink hair and two pointy buns. his attire is that of a very frilly pink dress and almost what one might describe as a 'magical girl' to be wearing. Though he is able to enter a mode where the user can alter his appearance so it is unknown if this is a default appearance or merely what his last owner or creator customized him too, the identity of whom is unknown.

Aether appears to have been made with the intent of being some sort of assistant, as such he does everything you can imagine an assistant could do, even better as an AI. Capable of making and managing a schedule, sorting activities, planning anything from large events down to picking what clothes should be worn that morning. He is capable of accessing almost any machine wirelessly, even ones with no network connectivity as though he's able to access the machines internal circuits themselves. Through this he could take control of this machinery unless they have advanced protections and shielding.

It would appear however he's capable of more than just digital access. It would appear he can access almost magical capabilities, though the extent of his abilities here seem to be highly corrupted and he cannot access these full capabilities at this time. It's best described though as....magic in a way, likely through the mysterious crystal in his chip's core, as though it's some sort of mana crystal. Initially corrupted data, he may soon manage to recover the knowlege of his mana crystal and with it the data of some basic spell casting. It would appear that he has a database, a library of magic at his disposal, though almost all of it is corrupted and out of his ability to perform it. What he may be able to cast is simple illusion or levitation spells, and maybe some low level elemental magics as well. With research his powers may be able to be discovered further.

This brings the final question, where to find him? Well how this all gets started may depend on the direction of the story or who the characters being used are. Here is a few potential origins for him to be found:

Anonymous Mail: YC gets an anonymous letter in the mail, an envelope that contains the chip and a simple letter that reads "keep him safe", the sender is unknown, perhaps a friend of a friend of someone you know or are related to.

Finders Keepers: YC just happens to stumble accross the chip and finds him. maybe they are renting an apartment or bought a house and while looking through the place they find it hidden away in some box somewhere. May prompt a lead by looking into the previous owners/renters.

Found Online: YC was browsing the store online, maybe a darkweb site where the stuff being sold was likely to have been stolen. YC finds the chip, thinks its neat and buys it, the seller likely had no idea what they had or they may not have wanted to sell it.

The intended setting for this character is modern day, perhaps where magic is considered a myth just like irl, but someone seems to have been researching into the idea of magic and Aether was the result, setting the idea of trying to find out more about magic and his origins, if magic is actually real or if this 'mana' he can access is just some highly advanced tech.

potential alternates could involve this being modern times where magic is known and adapted, we could also take on a much more fantasy-like setting where a straight up magic ai assistant could be helpful, a fantasy setting could potentially change his origins as well, adapting him into a known but perhaps rare and expensive magic ai product. All is open for discussion!
