    Ishmael is a taller than average young man of mixed heritage with toasty, caramel skin, grizzly bear brown hair, and bright hazel eyes. His short mop of hair has a thick, wavy texture, and his face has a very squarish shape with an aquiline nose and thick brows. He has dark lips and is usually clean-shaven. His eyes are downturned and bright, with an almost resplendent gold coloration. He has wide shoulders and long limbs with a fairly average physique. He does not go out of his way to work out but is fairly muscular due to his age and constantly lugging around heavy objects, either for his reporting or for odd jobs around town. 

    He wears a university varsity jacket. The body of the jacket is blue and black, the school's colors, with white leather arms. The back is emblazoned with the logo of the school's American football team, a grinning cartoon shark. He wears a variety of graphic T-shirts underneath, paired with ripped and patched denim jeans and ankle-height all-star shoes. He wears a brown leather messenger bag over his shoulder. When riding on his Vespa, he wears a blue and white striped helmet.
