Alastair De'Carteret

Born in Middle of Nowhere, France, around the year 1484, Alastair De'Carteret began his colorful life. Born to two vampires, his childhood was spent away from the sun, kept company only by his hardworking tailor of a father, and tight-lipped mother, his older brother having left home to find his fortune before Alastair had ever taken his first steps. His family came from a rather short line of vampires, his mother only the third of her line, and his father the second. Their wealth was enough to live comfortably, in a home that was large enough for each member to have their own room, but even still, his father preferred to live simply and keep a tight grip on his coin purse.

From a young age, Alastair was a sentimental creature, a curious boy, and liked to do little tasks for his family and the few friends he made, finding a sort of personal satisfaction from it. As he grew older, he was taught the family trade, learning to work on clothing and fabrics of all types.

Uriel Yaroslav, formerly known by the name Yurko, heard word on the wind of a man who could weave yellow thread into cloth and make it shimmer like gold, a man who could work on any fabric in any style and bring it back to its former glory. The clothes hidden away in his wardrobe, the seams of which were beginning to crumble into dust, begged to be brought back to life. They were old. Centuries old, from the time of Kievan Rus, before it had been founded. And so, he sent a servant to fetch this man who could weave life essence into the clothes he worked on.
He had intended on it being a one-time transaction. When he learned that the tailor was a vampire, like himself, however, he decided to offer him a position as his butler, one that Alastair eagerly accepted, ready to be gone from France, delighted to finally take himself out of the business his family had made for themselves.

As time went by, Alastair learned just how powerful his employer was. A member of the Vampiric Council, a man whose name made vampires worldwide shift uneasily, knowing he could kill a room of them with little to no effort. An Elder Vampire, the only Elder Vampire to have been turned, rather than born.

To this day, he adores his job. He is paid well and given as many days off as he wishes, so long as things remain organized in his absence. Uriel is reclusive, and is rarely ever seen even in his own home. Despite this, a time passed where Alastair had a blossoming attraction to him. That was two centuries ago, however, and such desires have long since passed. He is fiercely loyal to Sir Yaroslav, and will not tolerate anything negative said about him.

Alastair is a fierce lover, not because of his protectiveness, but because of his desire. For connection, for knowledge, for touch, for words, for everything anyone can and will offer him. He will offer himself on a platter, figuratively or literally, so long as devotion and love are given in return. He shows his adoration through physical intimacy, and the occasional written letter. As he lives a life of serving others, he takes relationships and intimacy to more intense and physical levels, so that his lovers know that they are different, so that there can be no mistake, no jealousy.

He is a soft-spoken man, rarely putting his opinion forward unless it is explicitly asked of him. However, he is very thoughtful, always thinking and analyzing, always prepared for whatever situation may arise. Because of this, he makes an incredible friend, a desirable lover, and a perfect butler.
