    Clan, Riku was raised under the weight of duty, honor, and discipline. His father, Lord Hiroshi Aokigahara, was a strict and formidable leader, revered for his unyielding command on the battlefield. From a young age, Riku was molded into the perfect heir—trained in the art of war, swordsmanship, and strategy, with little room for anything else.

    A Childhood in the Shadow of WarRiku’s earliest memories were not of laughter or warmth, but of blood-stained battle reports and hushed conversations of war strategies. His mother, Lady Akemi, was one of the few people who provided him with kindness, but she passed away when he was just ten years old, leaving him to be raised solely by his father and the clan's generals.

    Her death hardened Riku, making him suppress his emotions in order to meet his father’s expectations. Weakness was unacceptable. Tears were only for the dead, and failure was never an option.

    The Scar on His Jaw
    At fourteen, Riku fought in his first battle—a border skirmish with the Taketsuru Clan. Though he fought bravely, he was nearly killed when a Taketsuru warrior slashed his jaw. His father had watched the duel unfold and made no move to intervene. Riku only survived because he refused to fall, managing to counter and wound his opponent.

    That day, he earned his father’s approval, but lost a part of himself.

    Betrayal and Mistrust
    At seventeen, Riku experienced his first betrayal. A childhood friend, Souta, whom he had trusted like a brother, turned traitor and leaked crucial battle plans to an enemy clan. When the betrayal was discovered, Riku was forced to cut him down himself in front of the entire clan.

    Since then, Riku has struggled to trust anyone outside of his immediate circle. He keeps his emotions locked away, fearing that caring too deeply only leads to pain and betrayal.

    A Reluctant Heir
    Now at twenty-one, Riku is expected to lead the Aokigahara Clan into war and uphold its legacy, but doubts linger in his mind. He questions whether this endless conflict is truly the only path, but his father’s expectations and the clan’s honor keep him bound to his duty.

    His encounter with Renji Taketsuru unsettles him. Renji is everything he has been taught to despise—reckless, arrogant, and his sworn enemy. And yet, something about him awakens emotions Riku thought he had buried long ago.
