The Man

  Full name: Edward Barbus Bartram of Albion.
  Often goes by: Barbus. Edward is reserved for close relations only.
  Title: Doctor. (Dr.)
  Age: 38. Matured like a fine wine.
  Birthday: 21st of December, 18--.
  Sexuality: Undisclosed. Assumed heterosexual.
  Martial status: Single, not looking to change.
  Origins: His family have many ties to the distant lands of Portigal, but Barbus himself was born upon the shores of Albion, and there for considers himself a native. (Portigal is Furcadia's in-game equivalent to Portugal in Europe, as Albion is the representation of Britain; making Barbus British.)
  Occupation: Physician; with specialist training in the area of dentistry.
  Not to be mistaken for a psychologist, Barbus only deals with aliments of the body such as wounds, diseases or oral problems. He will, however, offer a second opinion for friends. He can give prescriptions for antibiotics, but often these are from a second score as he does not make his own drugs, as capable as he is.
  Species: Anthro canid - Portuguese Water Dog.
  Fur colouration: Primarily dominated by black, curled hair whilst his facial regions and the palms of his hands are painted an ashen grey.
  Eyes: A burnt umber, bright in hue yet brooding in appearance. Emotion is hard to read from them.
  Hair: Rather short, but long enough that he can tame it back into a almost natural quiff. Oil black in colour with his ears tucked away somewhere beneath the mess of obsidian strands. Down either side of his chiseled face are two short sheered sideburns that reach the bottom of his strong jaw.
  Human qualities: He is vastly more humanoid than he is an animal, by appearance and by nature. He has human hands; four fingers with an opposable thumb, and the same go for his feet. His legs are plantigrade, straight and stable, and he walks upon the heel and ball of his foot. He has a human face instead of a protruding muzzle, a pointed nose rather than a large, cold wet one.
  Animal qualities: Whilst his face appears of human quality, his jaws house an array of fangs that are typical to a domestic breed of dog. He has fallen ears that are always tucked into the strewn mess of his hair, and a tail protruding from his rear - the majority of which is covered in short sable fur save the tip, which takes on an almost lion-like appearance. Upon each finger he has curved, black claws.
  Likes: The smell of Autumn, cleanliness, order, intelligent woman and intelligent conversation, the taste of spiced cider, felines.
  Dislikes: Brutes or unintelligent people, men who constantly need to portray their 'manliness', whores or concubines, hypochondriacs, being told what to do or what he can't do.
  Hobbies: Experimentation for the sake of science and curiousity. Studying live subjects for behavioral problems. Studying psychology and it's effects on patients. Hunting for sport, on foot or on horse. Swimming as an exercise regime.
  Disorders: He is rather narcissistic and tends to believe that his opinion should be held in higher regard than others. It is also rumored that he is as masochistic as he is sadistic.
  
  Facts:
  - The Portuguese Water Dog is a hypoallergenic dog breed. Meaning that people who are allergic to dog hair will find that being around Barbus will not cause their usual symptoms to act up.
  - Barbus does not shed like other dogs, his coat needs to be regularly trimmed and maintained.
  - As is typical of his breed, Barbus loves water. He will keep fit with regular morning swims in the ocean or nearby facilities.
  - He was once addicted to opium, but when it threatened his career he managed to ween himself off it. Now, he is hesitate about being near the drug for fear of indulging the addiction once more.
  - Barbus lost his father to the civil war that swept through his parents country, and disdains fighting beyond friendly fisticuffs.
  - Whilst he remains calm and collected upon the surface, he is not beyond hurting people to get what he wants. He also feels little remorse for inflicting pain upon his patients; which could be symptoms of a sadistic personality. However, it should be noted that he will not go out of his way for a fight - when a tense situation emerges he will attempt to talk his way out of it, going to violence as a last resort.

• History

  In a nutshell (while I am too lazy to write it all out now) his father fought in a civil war and lost his life, his mother - pregnant with Barbus - fled to Albion for a peaceful life. She was not particularly wealthy, but because of Barbus' raw intelligence he was accepted into training as a physician, and later studied in the newly emerged dentistry section, rocketing his family up to noble status. However, while he was rather popular, a lot of elder nobles did not like their 'common blood' staining the high class.
