    Dimitri Ubinov was born to the Ubinov family, a family with a history of academic and monetary achievement, but little to no physical prowess. they ranged from those who changed the world with new fields in the study of kryocyte structuring, to those who brought down colonies with their experimentation and manipulations. the Ubinovs are intelligent, pale with dark hair, wimpy, and usually successful.

    Dimitri had a normal childhood, at least as normal as a Ubinov could be. the only child of his parents, he was put in the best schools available on earth, and by the age of 27 he had achieved his PhD. as a young child he enjoyed playing in the sandbox testing things, how would a change here alter the erosion of the water? he had the mind of a scientist, and he loved knowing. he was almost obsessed with his everlasting quest for personal mental perfection, and while it didn't interfere with his job, he took every chance he could to satisfy his curiosity. he had exhausted the resources available in schools to him, and this mind was recognized by the confederate fleet. he was enlisted and proved himself to be skilled as an engineer with the quantanium engine and recently got posted to the enterprise of captain Langley, where his story truly begins, in the midst of the imperium war.
