The Skeletal Protege
"Do something to my friends..I dare ya...."
Chris started out with nothing. His family of scientists suddenly disappeared one late night, leaving five year old Chris with nothing. That night he met the two strange skeletons. They took the boy in, never revealing their identity. When he asked who they where, the short one -smiles wider then he normally would. "We are your friends kid...call me Sa...Bob and this is..Pap."
From the night going on, Bob would always lay around, being generally lazy, while Pap would be out working with other people that Chris never met. Surprisingly, despite the skeletons hardly working around the house, the place never looked dirty. Instead it always looked clean. Chris would always try to get Bob to tell him what was going on. He always answered in the same form. "I'm not sure, but if you get faster I'm sure you may catch a glimpse of whatever it is."
From that day forth, Bob began to be more "active", running with Chris and playing tag. After a year of Chris running, he was able to match Bob's speed. One day, he finally caught a glimpse of the blue aura around the cleaning supplies as they worked while Bob relaxed. That day it all changed.
Chris followed the aura, watching it with interest as it worked. Finally he finds a key that looks like it's for Bob's room. Late that night, with Bob was sleeping on the couch and Pap in his room, Chris slips to the room. Upon opening the door, he looks around the small room, seeing old books and a bed with a desk. The lad gently removes a small scrap book, opening it to find old photos and letters addressed to a man...or skeleton named Sans. Seeing the photos caused Chris to realize who the two guardians where. Suddenly CRASH
A blue light was all the warning the boy had before the blast decimated the room. When they boy managed to regain his footing, he saw the source of the blast. Bob, or Sans rather, stood there watching Chris patiently as the skull like figure floating by him stops glowing. He smirks at the kid, taking a step forward. "Hey kid..." he says without showing his eyes. Suddenly he looks up, his left eye glowing blue with power, "... do you wanna have a bad time? Cause if you don't put that book down, your not going to like what happens next." the boy puts it down, but stands ready to move if the need arises. "So....you found out huh? Guess that was bound to happen sometime. Good thing to. We have an issue coming and you will be in danger. Well go get some sleep we start training tomorrow."
For the next nine years he was trained, amazed at the ability's he discovered with Sans. Finally the time arrived.
"You know what you must do Kid." He says, holding his hand out. "Find a stable timeline for myself...thank you Sans.." he says, shaking his hand. The nineteen yearold then tears up, hugging the closest thing to family he had. They stand there embracing for one last time before breaking apart, moving the machine that their friend Dr. Alphys. That was the last moment in that timeline and the last he saw Sans. -
