• Bio

  Franco, like all dragons, is an avid lover of treasure. He took it to it's extreme when he carved a niche for himself as a professional thief. While he prefers to keep gold and jewelry to himself he's also made money on commission sniping antiquities and artwork for well paying collectors.
  
  After pissing off a few people who were too high profile however, the other dragons that made up the clan decided he was too much of a liability to continue protecting. Having lost the support of the protection racket, he had no choice but to flee, and leave behind most of his wealth. Now he's left adrift, turning to petty crime to support himself and to satisfy the innate dragon attraction to anything gold and shiny.
  
  When in public he is usually wearing fairly crummy clothing, but paradoxically, is covered in gold jewelry that jingles as he walks. He cannot hide the appearance of his eyes and instead of contacts usually prefers wearing dark sunglasses.

• Biology

  Dragons are, as expected, reptilian, and have a few basic needs. For Franco's species, this means at least a couple hours of bright sunlight every day, a warm environment, and a varied diet with lots of lean protein.
  
  The body temperature of a dragon is dependent on its environment, like all lizards. While they can breathe fire and use their internal furnace to warm themselves up in a pinch, it ruins the illusion of being human, as it comes with copious amounts of smoke and may cause any clothing on their person to melt or scorch, as they get very hot. This means that a dragon trying to lie low in public will have to dress warmly or suffer. Franco has been known to disguise the smoke by smoking cigars.
  
  Dragons are not man eaters, but they do require meat in their diet. Franco eats a large meal every three to four days and spends the next day sleeping it off. He is otherwise omnivorous and capable of happily munching on most every day fare.
  
  Dragons are monitor-like in appearance, but very lightweight, as being too heavy would inhibit flight. Their wings are too small for real long distance powered flight, but they are perfect for short distance flight and gliding. Dragons are likewise talented climbers, with a long prehensile tail that acts as another limb.
  
  They are not large animals, the biggest males typically do not exceed 300 pounds, with most of them falling between 100 and 200 pounds in weight and not more than 8 feet high on their hind legs. They possess a small pair of horns similar to an antelope, and usually have a mane of raised scales down their spines.
  
  Aside from the ability to create small amounts of fire, dragons share a similar ability to chameleons in that they have a limited capacity for color change. They are usually dark in color, but may go darker or brighter depending on emotional state. A darker shade is useful camouflage for night time hunting, but a bright vibrant hue is a display used for intimidating rivals. Franco blushes bright blue when upset.
  
  The dragon fascination with gold is instinctual and is similar to that of a bower bird. The nest is lined with bright, colorful metals and stones, and the better the horde, the more attractive the horde's owner becomes to a potential mate. Dragons are cannibals that steal each other's stuff a lot, however, so courtship is very tricky, lest a potential mate kill you and steal your stuff. Franco is more interested in actually building the bower than attracting a mate and finds other dragons tiring. Despite this, before his exile, he managed to father seventeen children, whom he has nothing to do with.
