    Every day that I spend on this island makes my skin crawl. Not since the days in the palace have I felt so uneasy, as if down every corridor is something even more vile than the last.
    I have had many patrons leering at me, and it's not hard to wonder why. Such a place doesn't attract the pure and noble. These are thieves, slavers, criminals, pirates... no doubt each one tallying the price someone like me might fetch on the market. While I'm usually secure in my strength there have been times I've considered hiring on someone to keep close. Just in case.
    Something to be considered.
    
    I spend much of my time hidden away in the library or in the gardens here. High in the tree tops trying to distract myself from the uneasy feeling this place brings. I've been fortunate enough to be left alone for most of this time, excluding an incident where I accidently assaulted a man with a book.
    He was kind, and while I'm still wary of anyone here, he doesn't seem interested in the wares this place has to offer and more so the gathering of knowledge he can find in it.
    He has even offered to show me where there is a secret library. An even more secluded place I can hide away.
    If it weren't for the pull of my kind drawing me here I would have fled the moment my hooves hit the dock. But I feel, regardless of everything, that this is where I need to be. To be with my kind as its clear so many of us have gathered here for whatever reasons.
    
    One thing I can say for this place, is while a great deal of the populations intentions are less than pure, I did manage to find a merchant selling fighting fish from my home. He had one the color of jade that I had to have. How ironic, to have another creature as the living reflection of the stone. His name is Li Shimin, and I have taken to calling him Shimi for short. He is a fiery little fish with a half moon tail and temperament to rival the biggest fish in the sea.
