• Biography

  Prior to becoming a close disciple of Apophis, Kyle (Rophiapgisy) had a difficult childhood living with the slaves on Avnil, a planet under the control of Tilgath prior to his abandoning it following his inability to divert resources to terraforming while defending against incursions by Apophis. No older than ten when Tilgath left, his family struggled to survive as the slaves turned on one another over the limited food and water sources within the solar radiation shield. They knew that once the shield collapsed, they'd have to be "at the top of the pack", as his father said. A few years later, the fated day arrived, and barely past puberty, Kyle watched in horror as his parents burned alive under the harsh, unforgiving sun while attempting to find cover in the nearby forest. Many more died that day.
  
  Nearly a week passed, Kyle separated from the rest of the tribe, unable to find anything to eat or drink since he'd been raised to rely on food provided to them through the stargate by his 'god'. He'd almost given up hope when a ha'tak descended from the sky above him. Believing it to be his final moments, he closed his eyes as a light swept over him... and then, what felt like seconds later, he awoke inside what he now knows was a Goa'uld sarcophagus. Apophis had revived him, believing his hardiness made him the perfect addition to his personal cadre of servants. From that day forward, Kyle began worshiping Apophis as his true god, unconcerned by the fact that not even this god could resurrect his parents. He'd make excuses, unable to accept the truth he knew all along.
  
  Over the next twelve years, Kyle served under Apophis and rose to the rank of lo'taur, the most trusted servant of a System Lord. He witnessed many of Apophis' atrocities, listened in on his intrigues with the other Lords, even nearly accepted an implantation of a new symbiote representing one of Apophis' underlords. However, Kyle hoped to one day be the vessel of his new master and, therefore, asked to be given the chance to prove himself. Apophis accepted this and, after his encounter with SG-1 over a year ago, had a flash of inspiration. Kyle would serve as the leader of a group of humans training to better prepare Apophis' army for future battles with the Tau'ri. Further, he'd be "the instrument of their destruction" by infiltrating the SGC with fellow lo'taur No'var (Nelson).
  
  Following their encounter with SG-1, Kyle and the rest of the 'SG-X' team returned home. For Kyle, that meant risking his life back on Avnil, where he found the shield restored and his people living in relative peace. For the next year, he'd settled down with a family of farmers, who were trying to learn from a team of specialists from the SGC. Although tempted to ask if he could return to Earth with them, Kyle stayed back out of fear that he'd never be welcome. Instead, he tried to form a new life for himself, though he never truly recovered from the shock and trauma following the events on Apophis' training planet. He became distant, prone to outbursts, and eventually sabotaged his "only chance at a normal life": a girl named Laira. Sensing that he needed to leave and help in the fight against the Goa'uld, Kyle's newfound family convinced SG-9 to bring Kyle with them on their return trip.
  
  It wasn't an easy thing to accept, as the Pentagon thought it unwise, but with support from Colonel O'Neill, Kyle received a commission to join Air Force cadets training at the Alpha Site. Nearly three years later, General Hammond recalled him to Earth (not long before the Tok'ra arrived in 2002) to train at a regular facility on the surface. After another five years, he rose to the rank of Captain, serving under various SG teams before finally settling on SG-8 in early 2008.
