• Personality

  There is no way to get around it really. Cael's personality is awful. Arrogant and demanding. Spoiled in the extreme and with a firm belief that he is better than you that is held so tightly no amount of evidence is really going to convince him otherwise. Not only has he been brought up with the golden spoon of royal privileged warming between his butt cheeks, he is also part of a culture of sky islanders who are taught from birth they are far superior to anyone born on the surface world.
  
  Cael not only enjoys his superiority he openly reveals in it and if you want to get on his good side the fastest and easiest way is to kiss his ass and address him with all suitable royal titles.
  However once you manage to scrape of the surface layer of royal pain in the assness (thats a word, shutup), he's not all that bad. He still had empathy for others and he believes in treating his slaves and servants well as long as they serve him faithfully and without too much back chat.
  
  Also earth walkers might all be low born commoners and barley worth his notice but he won't hold your sexuality or gender identity against you, so silver lining there.

• Culture

  To Understand Cael it is best to understand the culture he came from. His people live on a vast floating archipelago of islands that constantly traverse the globe. They worship the skye mother or 'great goddess' and her associated children which are all embodiments of weather elements (Prince of lighting ect). It is her magic which keeps the islands safely bubbled in a mini atmosphere and the bottom of the islands a mass of floating cloud which keeps them hidden from any eyes looking skyward. It is to be stressed that without the atmospheric bubble the heights the islands float at most of the time would leave the air un-breathable and the temperatures at sub 0. The times when the islands float low enough to be easily accessible by airship and winged creatures is limited and always a manic time for trading and site seeing.
  
  Magic is an intricate part of the lives of the islands as most natives are blessed in the sky mother temple when they are children which gives them the ability to become weather mages. The most powerful of these mages are then taken into the temple's priest hood or can even be adopted into royalty. Hence all of the islands higher society tend to be 1st order mages.
  
  Since magic is so common at its most mundane it is worked into daily life. Watering crops with magic rain or making small artificial suns in the home for light and warmth. The more impressive acts of changing the islands weather as a whole can only be accomplished by 1st order mages or groups of 2nd and 3rd order.(There are six orders in total)
  
  In terms of society at large, think rome during the empire era, which is the closest you are likely to get. Although the archipelago's main powers are the royal family and temple priests each island also nominates a councilor to serve their interests in a loose government. Systems in line with welfare for the poorest citizens and free medical care are also in place.
  Most of the archipelagos wealth comes from magic tools which are manufactured and sold to the nations they pass over and can command a hefty price tag depending on power.
  
  Unfortunately other than the Ventur vulpus natives creatures visiting fall into two camps, merchants and foreign dignitaries or slaves.
  Slaves are common,,used for manual labor, prostitutes, personal servants and everything in between. Most of the slaves on the island are bred from captured airship pirates or gifts from other nations they pass over in return for magical aid.
  Laws for slaves state that they must always be provided the basics of food, water and a place to sleep and not killed without reason but punishments can be brutal and the laws often applied loosely and without proper enforcement.
  Slaves with wings are only to be sold to the temple and noble families as wings are seen as a blessing from the sky mother. Winged slaves are almost always personal attendants or pets as they are a symbol of status and wealth.
  
  For a Ventur Vulpus to leave the island is practically unheard of, but curious citizens may go down to the surface in groups to explore for brief periods.

• Secret, Shhhh

  Cael would not normally stay at on the ground and away from his beloved island so long but his father the King has recently passed. Cael is fifth in line to take the throne as succession rights of his home are dictated by power level and not age or birth order. However his two prime heir siblings are very close in magics. And thus have started a power struggle to determine who has better claim.
  
  Though Cael is not a threat to them openly his support for one or the other along with his other numerous siblings can sway things. Sadly their is also the risk that failing to support one could lead to his death to eliminate him as a variable. Thus he has decided on self imposed exile for now. The tethers island just so happen to have strong magics that help conceal him along with a number of protection spells he has placed on himself.
