• The Body's Will to Survive

  Mayleen lived in a small town in Northern Greenland. One day, On a hunting trip with her father they became separated and Mayleen could not find her way back. She used her knowledge to survive as long as she could before all seemed lost. As she starved, Styr, a spirit tied to the grimoire known as The Book of Suffering, was watching her waiting till she was on the verge of death. He approached her, she was frostbitten, thin, unable to stand. He offered her a new life, and great strengths. She was unable to speak but he knew what she thought. "Your suffering here was the price, but in addition, you will relive these events in your dreams every once in a while. Remind you, when you start to forget, what got you to where you are." She could barely nod in agreement. She wanted nothing more than to live. He snapped his fingers and warmth flowed through her body as the frostbite disappeared. She still felt the cold, but she no longer shivered because of it. She gripped her fists and stood with a grin.

• After the Deal

  She would continue to live out her days in the wilderness, slowly losing her humanity as a side effect of the experience. She grew to not need to eat as often, about once or twice a week is enough for her. She grew to have the name "The Greenland Yeti" as a result of the ice augments she coats her arms with as she hunts. After a while the two traveled to other cold regions to live never staying in one place too long.
