Angry In Love |
At 6'2" she stood, scarred from the head down in an unlimited flow of marks and cuts that spoke loudly of her story. Warring was in her blood; the kingdom made sure to make use of her. It had mixed its people and so other beings live among humans in some kind of harmony. However, creatures like her had a much harder time of being seen as equals as animals were inferior creatures before the coming age of these talking, two-legged breeds. Head of the front line due to her aggressive nature and intimidating appearance, she captained a suicide squad of seven. Each of them chose a vantage point and attacked until the army died or they died. Their mantra was to fight for the Raize Kingdom until their dying breath since they were given a rare opportunity to be given a position within the city, close to the capital. She'd been given her first escort mission: protect the royal trainer to a meeting in a residing city. While others gossiped how they could see how she was picket, her squad wished her the best. She had worked hard and deserved leisure even in this simple task. Lecter ran into her. She had been standing at the front of his room, detailing their route. No introductions. Awkward silence had taken them for a time before he nodded and handed her the case. "Guard it well.." His accent was unmistakable, distinct. Charismatic tenor, she felt her heart flutter like it had many times before. Humans had failed in receiving her just like her counterparts. Face had been gnarled and scarred from swords to claws along with the rest of her. Nothing real pretty to look at; rough and feral in a sense. She was an animal. It didn't matter. She'd do her job like she always had. Within the stable to where he had gone, she had a glorious view of the six most beautiful and deadly gryphons raised in the kingdom. She knew a couple of them well as they had joined the likes of battle, but they were bred to perfection even if the personalities were extreme or lacking. The man tended to them with tenderness and it was in that moment that she had been swooned by the shorter kind. When he turned to her, he didn't wrinkle in disgust nor tear her down with derogatory words which brought loads of self-loathing. "You're Valda, Captain of the Suicide Squad." She nodded, "My girls adore you a lot, you know." Genuine, unforced. For the first time in a long time, she cracked a smile. A wide one. This memory couldn't end. And it didn't. After the trek out and back to the capital, Lecter called for her company, especially towards the stalls where the gryphons greeted them both in a cheerful squawks. Before long, he was seeing her on patrol, in the weight room, gymnasium, and dining area on a regular basis. No one could see what Lecter saw in her as he wasn't a man who shared his time with others, but he gave it to her freely. She'd been approached on several occasions, beating down verbally that her charms of seduction wouldn't work on him. To give up. Valda did. Lecter knew, and he pursued. Rain poured as he hastily caught up to her, his slender arm reaching out for any part of her he could grab, that being her tail. He inquired sternly of her whereabouts and her silence to his requests. "I'm ugly," bluntly stated, "I don't know what game you're playing at but tell me something. Why?" Classic glasses being pushed up the bridge of his nose. "There's no better joy than your company, Valda." When she looked into those piercing grays, all she could see was the truth down to his soul. He was a passionate man. Not the strongest in terms of strength but his mind and words were his swords. "Lecter, what do you want from me?" Teeth shown in his grin, "Simple. Every chance I have, I want to make you smile and never regret a single moment you're with me." "Lecter," her voice dropped an octave, "Are you proposing courtship to me?" "Only if you're accepting, darling." Armor was tossed aside as she jumped him, both of them toppling in a mess of limbs as they embraced another in mixed laughter. Valda held good character even against the discrimination she faced on both ends for being parts animal from humans and not female enough from the males of her kindred species. Lecter saw potential and went with it. And knowing how much his gryphons adored her made opening his heart to her all the more easier. Six months in, he proposed. Twelve months later and they were recognized as a married couple on the kingdom's registry. Lecter fought for their rights and finally won the case a month before they got hitched. A year later and their son was born, a hybrid who would surpass his parents in skill and knowledge the moment he matured. Unfortunately, war struck from the Belstrum Empire as they had planned to invade and steal their gryphons while killing off their warriors. They had trained their people to spy and note down the kingdom for its weaknesses and then attacked when the time was right. Lecter never forgot the moment he lost his wife and son to the Elite Four as they tore her apart and shot his son dead in the forehead. He held his son, tears filling his eyes. He couldn't see them anymore as their bodies laid wasted in the growing body count. Lecter had lost everything, and it seemed that next was his own life. He awoke with his gryphons surrounding him within a shroud as they lied over his bleeding wounds to keep the pressure on him and warm. His vision was blurred, what with glasses broken in half by the sword crossing his face. His jaw shuddered as he tried to speak but one of his girls pressed her head up to his chin, closing his mouth. Choking like he was drowning. Numb from the pain as realization hit him slowly. Golden ring sits on his ring finger as the bronze booties sit upon the mantel in the built cave where he and his girls reside, exploring, training, and plotting for the right moment to avenge his home, no matter if it took an army or him and his six girls. |
