Rue is physically fit in a naturally cultivated sort of way, lean and sparsely lanky, giving him the appearance of being thinner than he really is. He is long of leg and carries a rectangle body shape with pronounced hipbones.
FACE
Rueben has longer, angular features, with a well-defined jaw, a slight cleft on his chin and a pointed nose. His brows are thin but pronounced, angled with deep-set eyes. He has three moles, two nearly framing his right eyebrow and one that rides the edge of his left cheekbone.
HAIR
Probably his most defining feature, this fox has some big hair, naturally thick and wavy toned in deep browns with undertones of auburn and pronounced side-burns. A purposeful wearer of the bed-head, it fits him well, making him come off as a little more care-free if not rough around the edges. He is also normally fit with a fair amount of stubble along his jaw, upperlip and chin.
EYES
Hazel.

OTHER
Ears are pierced, two on each lobe usually fit with 14g black captive rings.

Has an alder tree tattoed on his left arm with some celtic knotwork etched into the trunk and an armband of knotwork, a Grateful Dead skull on his right arm with Better Off Dead above it, broken arrow across his throat, a swallow on his left hand and a fool tarot card on his right forearm.

White dime-sized circular scar behind right ear.

Carries a few distinctive moles, one on the left side of his face riding his cheekbone, two on the right side of his face framing the furthest edge of his brow, one on his right collarbone.

SURFACE- LEVEL
DEMEANOR
What you see from Rueben is certainly not always what you get. Charismatic and easy-going, his confidence and amiable bearing are usually well received. He has a way with words and humor, subtly playing on people's assumptions and bolstering trust in others like it comes second nature to him. He can seem genuine and affable, with a bit of crude humor at times.

Even when his rough around the edges appearance might prove an obstacle in overcoming preconceived perceptions, his equable manner and silver-tongue do well to disarm most suspicion and negativity, even among those who might otherwise know better. Questions or prying into his life will often be met with deflection or little more than vague answers and more questions of his own like a game of psychological keep away. He'll 'reveal' just a hint in order to keep his hooks in, but he isn't exactly an open book.

IN-DEPTH
NATURE
Perceptive and clever, the fox is skilled in reading others. He is neither too proud or too honorable and will often take the easy way out or save his own hide. Most interactions are likened to theatrical performance, and no matter how genuine they might feel, at the base of it, Rue prefers keep people at arm’s length. He would rather worry about his own skin than risk becoming attached to others.

The idealistic dreamer that he is at the very depths of his person has been packed away under experiences that have left him more prone to paranoia and distrust with a healthy dose of cynicism. Rue is genuinely a person capable of redemption who has the capacity for honor and loyalty even if it might not seem so under initial inspection.

He is naturally curious, restless and impulsive, traits that make it hard for him to settle his life in a place or status. While money isn't his driving force, the wealth of experience surely is, and seeing new sights, experiencing new things, these are the things that keep him going and keep his blood pumping. Beneath the deceptive exterior, at the base levels, Rue is just a romantic dreamer who's been jaded by the circumstances of his life.

EGO
The man has long since lost touch with the better qualities of himself and the perceptions others have forced upon him have skewed his view of himself. At some level he's just learned to accept that he will always be nothing more than a coward, a conniver and a delinquent. It is a mild form of self-loathing, and generally, he views himself as beyond reproach and undeserving of many of the things he sought in his youth.

Physically, he views himself as only vaguely handsome (albeit in an unconventional way) in some areas, knowing well how to use a well-placed smile or a smolder to get what he needs from people, and intellectually he is aware of his own acuity, though he is hardly boastful of it. He views himself as morally bankrupt, prone to bad decisions made on the fly and possibly harmful to keep around.

OUTLOOK
The world is a dark place and Rueben is well acquainted with some of it's darker corners. He has learned over the course of his life that its truly dog eat dog and most people are prone to horrendous behavior. Everything he's done has been in the interest of his own self-survival and he rectifies the guilt that he carries for his transgressions against others in numerous ways, mostly revolving around his perception of people and their failings.

Stupidity is seen as a cardinal sin while simultaneously remains embraced in its occurrence in others, often viewed as an exploitable weakness. If you are dumb enough to fall for his silver tongue or nimble fingers, he'll shift the blame on the victim rather than expose his conscience to the guilt.

He has a hard time trusting people, often assuming most people think in terms of what they can get from someone. He is somewhat cynical of people as a whole and even more so of the norms that society imposes, his true view borders on the unorthodox and he has some disdain for the system that didn't quite make things easy on him growing up. Still, he is quite accepting of other people’s flaws and can often be surprisingly understanding and down to earth, as more than anything he values freedom and sees no measure of superiority in race, gender or preference.
