• just a poor boy, I need no sympathy.
  Eli comes from a rough, ruthless neighbourhood filled with bad people and criminality. In a young age he was thrown in a foster. The mother was, and still is a big part of an underworld of organised crime, while the father was just a pathetic crackhead of a drugaddict. The mother's side of the family are either dead, or criminals. Even his uncle was sent in jail for murder, and his mother has probably killed people as well. Never has Eli been a part of that world, he has just been observing as a kid, when he at long last saw his parents. Being in a foster home didn't mean he wouldn't see his family at all – I did. And as a child he had seen some ugly things as well.
  
  In the foster home things weren't much different. Everyone who lived there were troubled kids with a rough childhood, but while they were focusing more on drugs, parties and rebellious operations, Eli tried to focus more on school, to make sure he would actually be able to do something with his life that his parents accidentally gave him.

  I see a little silhouetto of a man

  Eli definitely struggles with some anger-issues. That does not mean, he tries to handle them, but sometimes he chooses to fight more for it than other times. – Depends on the person and situation. On one hand he would never lay a hand on a person who's dear to him, on the other hand he would with no hesitation break someone's jaw if he gets pissed.
  But this does not come from nothing. When he was a kid in a foster home the man definitely gave preferential treatment to Eli. Which might sound as a good thing, but in Eli's case it was most certainly not. Frequently at night time the man of the house would go to Eli's bed, to take him to the garage - and no, it was not to show give night lessons on cars.
  
  Eli has, since he said his first word, had a hard time speaking and communicating. He had a type II stutter, which made him an obvious victim no matter what. He would not be able to rat out the man, because nobody would ever understand what he said anyway. Besides, what straight kid in a foster home for troubled kids would ever talk about getting molested by a grown man? Kids can be cruel creatures, and in many ways they would not understand the situation in any way.

  As Eli grew older he learned what advantage it would give him, if he worked out, so he did. Constantly. All day, every day. While the other youngsters were busy partying, everything he did was to study and workout, and study about working out. Always has he been that odd, skinny kid at home and in school. Sometimes he went to see his uncle in prison, whom Eli found big interest and admiration in and for. Of course he had no interest in the family business, looking at what dangerous things his mother was operating, and what brought his uncle in prison, but at the same time, part of him feels strangely attached. Even though Eli did not grow up with his family, he is still well-aware of certain things about the members, and what they do. Before he went to a foster home he did live with them, observing. Even though his speaking-abilities were almost non-existent, that did not make him dumber. Quite the reverse, when he did not speak, it was observing, learning. Unfortunately the criminal world closed down for him thanks to his mother. A clever, independent woman who clearly saw the danger in having a kid running around her work.

  When Eli turned 18 he moved out from the foster home and reconnected with his grandmother on his father's side. For a long time she had been a wild, old lady, travelling the world without knowing what was going on back home. She learned about Eli's life and her son's drug abuse, and was clearly shocked. However, she offered Eli shelter, and they now live together. They do not have much, but they have enough for the two of them. The bond between them only gets stronger for each day, and the grandmother is now that one good person in the world of Eli's, whom he would take a bullet for. She means everything to him, and she makes him want to be the best version of himself – And so he proceeds.
