• Background

  __foster care iwan was born into foster care, given up to the state at birth by an underage mother - that's the only information he was ever able to work out of his worker once he turned eighteen. his final adoptive parents are joanna and craig gallagher, and he's been with them since he was fourteen. he went through eight other households before landing in their's, and he is...in a roundabout way, grateful it was them that were his final stop. craig is violent, sure, but joanna doesn't put up with anyone's shit, including the neighborhood's, and makes sure her kids are fed, clothed. maybe they scrape by, maybe he had to get a job under the table weeks into living with them to earn his proper keep, but it works. since he landed in their house, they've gone through countless other foster kids who treat them as a pond and they're a skipping stone - only three others have managed to stop and stay. he's the oldest, of course, and he has two sisters, a younger brother in the middle of them in age. girls are fourteen and eight, the boy eleven, and if you ask nicely he'll talk about them, but... __adulting turning eighteen should've meant a kick to the ass and out to the real world to fend for himself, but iwan's two jobs bring in more money than they expected, and he's a grounding, good influence on the younger siblings. so he's convinced joanna to let him stay. craig isn't too happy about their basement extra studio they could be renting out being used to house him instead, but he's not around enough to make a difference. if craig is around, iwan takes the brunt of the opiate addicted pained factory worker, takes the verbal and physical abuse so no one else in the house has to. his new lycanthropy has made this a challenge, as craig likes to see lasting marks of his control in the home, and his healing factor isn't something he's managed to learn anything like holding off with yet. so the beatings continue, and iwan puts himself purposely in harm's way - it might seem like a death wish, to anyone who didn't know the truth.

• Lycanthropy

  __bitten bitten at nineteen by an unknown wolf who's never bothered to check in on him since passing on the curse, he's had to learn everything about what he is by trial and error. this means he's not very well versed in the facts, just what makes sense to him. __forms and senses has two different shifts, one of which is similar in appearance to a maned wolf, and can shift at will to it, and a large bipedal form that generally triggers when interacting with other were's as a fight or flight response. when emotionally heightened or inhibitions lowered, his eyes will change to a canine yellow-gold, and he's capable of more animalistic noises, including barks, growls, and howls, even without shifting. claws and fangs can happen, generally in defense. STRENGTHS senses are obviously heightened and he's got a boosted metabolism, which makes putting on muscle mass easier and keeping it on simple, as well as an appetite to rival a cloud of locusts. drugs go through his system faster and alcohol tolerance is too damn high, so he keeps up the appearance of insobriety if he needs. healing factor is boosted, now that he's figured out his bipedal form and has a stronger connection to his curse. WEAKNESSES sensitivity to silver and allergies similar to a canine's (that he's currently unaware of). electricity can force him not to shift and enough of it will overtax his healing ability to the point he can be seriously harmed with ease. wolfsbane gives him headaches and makes his senses foggy, also poisonous (which it is even for people).
