Description and Background
He is a tiefling, his blood tainted by the Devil that headed his family line, Ka'zel. His manifestation comes in several manners, barbed horns that span from his brow back along his head. Fang tipped teeth give him a fierce smile. Skin so pale it rivals freshly fallen snow, and hair of the very same color.
His eyes are ice like, a blue so pale they look nearly silver. There is a coldness within their depth that pierces down to the very heart. He is not a kind creature.
His frame is thick, athletically muscled. He stands an intimidating six feet ten inches. Most often, the tiefling wears little more than a black pair of silken leggings tied about his hips with a red sash.
His muscular legs end in cloven feet. The hooves, like the rest of him, are white.
Background:
Baru tends to fight against the darkness that taints his blood. He finds a release in what he has taken as a job. A monster hunter of sorts, despite the fact that many would consider his own race a monster.
He has an elemental tie to water and ice. As a result, Baru is an albino. Even his eyes have no color pigmentation within them, the iris is as white as the rest of him. He is an adept fighter, and is looking to find some training in magic. He hasn't found the teacher that is suited to him, but he is ever hunting. He intends to round out his skills to be a more adept monster hunter.
Some mild elemental resistances. Cold, water, and is adept at traveling all terrains.
He possess a book that has intimate knowledge of various types of monsters, anything from bugbears to lich and undead creatures.
The darkness that whispers to Baru's soul is something that he uses in battle. It sends him into something of a blood rage, causing the tiefling to berserk, this can be a dangerous time for those around him. In these moments he has a hard time telling friend from foe.
Weapons, Armor and Abilities:
Different creatures that he hunts are known to have different needs to dispatch them. His weaponry and armor depends on what he is hunting.
Special Abilities:
Soul Seer: Rare tieflings have a peculiar sight that allows them to see the state of a creature's soul. They can use deathwatch at will as spell-like ability. This is a racial trait. Deathwatch is the ability to determine the condition of creatures near death within a sixty foot radius. One instantly knows whether each creature within the area is dead, fragile (alive and wounded), fighting off death, undead, or neither alive nor dead (such as a construct).
Deathwatch sees through any spell or ability that allows creatures to feign death.
Darkvision: Tieflings can see perfectly in the dark for up to 60 feet.
False Alignment: They are aware of and can choose the result of any attempt to detect their alignment.
Minimal food and water: Baru can survive on one-quarter the amount of food and water a human requires.
Ethereal Sight: He can see creatures on the ethereal plane.
Frost skin: The tiefling exudes an aura of cold. Any creature attempting to grapple him for extended periods may be at risk to frostbite. In battle the tiefling can heighten this trait and cause the very air around him to grow chilled. Just as it can be made stronger, it can be made weaker. However, he will always be cool or cold to the touch.
