Katlego Ngige

...Model 44 isn't Jhanvi's latest production, however he is unparalleled in performance and personality. He is the only synthetic to have chosen a name for himself, and has developed the most successful and lasting relationships according to former crew members. Contrary to his predecessors and the newer models, Katlego isn't readily pliant. Jhanvi even described Model 44 to be aggravated with her on occasions and would "tune her out" when those moments would arise. He's been known to engage in healthy disputes and dissolve them in a timely manner. Ngige is also described to be very expressive and interactive despite being one of few words. Facial expression, gestures, sounds, posture, and touch are his primary approaches of communication. Jhanvi concludes this is why he has made better connections than other synthetics- conversing in ways other than words has kept him out of a superficial light. Granted Katlego has respectable reputation, he doesn't come without faults although they are minor to his function.

...The synthetic embraces his role as an "almanac" so much so that he'd, at times, neglect crew members in some circumstances. Perhaps he loses the motive to be concerned or would rather observe in moments where he could be of aid. In his defense, he once claimed -in regard to one incident- that he didn't want to obstruct the accuracy of human history. 'Model 44's failure to act resulted in three dead crew members' a caption within the circle of the Expedition Enterprise once read. The headline might have ebbed at the synthetic's popularity, but not enough to have him excluded from future missions. While some conductors decline Katelgo's services, others would easily accept.

Additional Functions and Features

Ngige has ten colour receptors which permits him to see more colors than the average human who has only three. Ultraviolet and infrared vision is also included in the synthetic's scope of vision.

With the inclination to protect oneself, Ngige has distinguished skills when it comes to combat and augmented strength. Speed, fortitude, and dexterity make up for the restriction for a synthetic to wield weapons.

Synthetics are chiefly organic. Bioengineering has made enough advances to give synthetics human attributes which eventually included sexual appendages. It is left to question, however, if synthetics should have reproductive systems. Jhanvi has already driven this into progression.
