Javier is a man of apathy, indifference and vice. He can be as cruel as he can be kind, as vicious as he can be downright lazy. It simply depends on what benefits him most in a given situation. A long and brutal trek across the sands of time has left him with a single personal ideal: people are cattle, and only the strong may shepherd them. Perhaps fortunately for those within his sphere of influence, Javier is seldom pressed to action, believing that expending energy on the things he cannot control is simply not worth the effort. This results in a generally affable, lazy, and laissez-faire attitude with which he glides through a morally bankrupt life. But do not mistake his inaction for stupidity: he is ever watchful, ever observing, constantly jotting down notes in his mental archives about each and every person he comes across. This allows him an almost unrivaled ability to think ahead, plan, and manipulate situations to his favor. Good, evil...these words have no meaning to a man such as him anymore...though perhaps there's still some hidden well of humanity somewhere deep inside of him.

As a human, Javier looks to be somewhere in his late thirties or early forties. He is built of a wiry frame that's more muscular than one might expect at first glance. Tan skin and dark, bed-tousled hair fall in waves down to the shoulders — dark, with a glossy shine. An angular jawline and two peculiarly sharp canine teeth expose themselves with every enigmatic smile. He forgets to shave often, leaving chiseled jawline with a perpetual five o'clock shadow. Javier dresses almost exclusively in wrinkled dress shirts and slacks, lending himself a general air of 'just got out of bed'. Like most all of the Tether's patrons and merchants, Javier is wealthy, but doesn't particularly look it. One might find his wealth only in the careless way in which he purchases just about anything he wants.

As far as hobbies go, Javier indulges in good liquor, fine cigars, sometimes opium, and considers himself something of a collector of ancient things and curiosities. His massive library and personal collection of oddities is of extreme personal import to him. Javier hoards knowledge and culture like a dragon hoards treasure, and will do so with extreme jealousy. Javier owns several residences, including a sprawling old-world manor in his native Spain. Given his occupation and frequent travel to Guildereim, he also owns property on-site — specifically a beach-front villa near the Golden Tether.
