Daywalker Vampire.
The truth is much more horrifying: Javier is a an abomination. An unnatural crossbreed between a Chupacabra and a Wendigo, with it's own unique skills and abilities for survival in a human-dominated world. It has no name.
Appearance -
At A Glance
Human in all aspects, except for a pair of abnormally long and sharp canine teeth. Can dislocate his own jaw to reveal his true teeth - canines will elongate into huge fangs more suited to an animal than a vampire, followed by two massive rows (top and bottom) of serrated and pointed teeth. Teeth can and will move around to make room.

Underneath It All
Javier's human form is false; a second skin in order to live among men undetected. His humanoid skin can be sloughed or ripped off to reveal a monstrous form beneath: bones that have been contorted to fit a 'human' silhouette will stretch and distort until he is nearly 8 feet tall, and the creature will revert to walking on all fours with long, clawed limbs. It will be covered by an impossibly hard, leathery skin - like that of a desiccated corpse - with inky black eyes and those terrible teeth.

Vampirism
It's hard to hide those fangs, and so Javier does not bother to pretend to be fully human. He indulges in civilized blood-drinking, as vampires do - treating it as just as much a vice as nursing a glass of fine vintage. Javier is a creature of exceptional control, most days; he will find a willing (or unwilling, in the form of a thrall) participant and drink his fill, knowing intrinsically how much to take before it becomes fatal. Javier will only kill his victim if he is desperately hungry and has no other source of nutrients...mostly because he simply does not feel like dealing with the consequences in the aftermath.
Augmented Strength, Hearing and Smell
Even in his lithe human form, Javier is preternaturally strong. Although he very rarely flexes his strength, Javier has the capacity to lift something several times his own body weight, and can take many hits that would otherwise fell a humanoid of his size. Javier also has considerably sharper senses than a normal human.
Pain Tolerance
Javier cannot feel pain. Beat him, cut him open - he won't blink an eye. It's only a shell, after all. -

Frenzy
A couple of times a year, Javier's hunger will grow out of control and the need to fully Feed will become nigh unbearable. In this Frenzied state, Javier will instinctually disappear into the woods or jungle and find a hidden place to dwell. There, he will shed his human form entirely under the cover of darkness. While it will slough of naturally, ripping it off in fleshy pieces is the quickest way to shed, and is a very messy process. It will hunt for several days, felling beast or man with equal fervor, consuming blood and flesh with little prejudice. When it is satisfied, it will return to its dwelling and hibernate for several weeks while its second skin regrows.
Javier may undergo this transformation under duress outside of Frenzy, but it is an extremely tiring and exhaustive process. He will only do so under extreme circumstances, such as in a life-or-death situation.
Supernatural
The Beast's supernatural abilities are shrouded in mystery, as sighting it is an extremely rare occurrence.
