Kristal Ashleigh Cloud

Kristal is the older twin of the Cloud family. Their parents are both mixed of many lineages making the twins an all around the world kind of children.

Their mother was someone of high ranked within the military, but she could never tell them the nature of her job. It’s also because of this, that she was rarely with them. It was always Kristal and their father. Their father was an adventurer. He had expertise in archaeology, biology, zoology, and even boasted that he’s found evidence of alien technology. Though she never took that commentary seriously.

She looked up to both her parents and wanted to be a bit of both, while her sister went the other path and stayed at their old home to be an herbalist. Kristal always felt a bit of contempt because of that. She’s always tried to be the strongest, the smartest, and be reliable so she could take care of Jade.

One day on their adventures, her father told her a huge secret. Kristal and Jade were no ordinary girls. They were special. Their parents created them, hoping to create the perfect little girls. Their genes were manipulated and and several unlocked for purposes that only their mother knew. He’s agreed, trusting that the manipulations were for the betterment of the girls futures. This secret stayed with her for years, while her sister stayed blissfully unaware.

Returning from their travels, Kristal and her father went to visit her mother in the lab, but found that they couldn’t even enter the military base. Despite their protests and evidence of identification they continued to be denied to see her. All they knew was that Doctor Cloud(the girls mom) had to be transferred to a more secure facility.

After days of protest they received a call from their mother. She talked to her father first, his face turning bleak before handing the phone to her. Her mother told her how much she loved her and how much she wishes she could be with them now, but mommy has to save the world, just as Kristal and Jade has to. Beyond that, the only thing Kristal remembers is the trembling voice of her mother, as if stifling a cry and her mother telling her that she and her sister must always take care of each other and she loves them both very much.

After, Kristal and her father drove to her sisters residence in silence.

Their father gave a short explanation to Jade about their situation, but she couldn’t protest. She could barely digest what’s happening and she was supposed to be the strong one. She carried about silently, wanting to protest and cry on the inside.

Seeing the cryogenic sleep chambers in the bunker, she knew it was real. She and Jade would never see their parents again. And one day, they’ll wake in a world that they no longer know.
