  Born Azrael Bhaal Mordecai Etherwing Morrigan, Azrael is from the noble Morrigan bloodline, one of the highest standing among demon kind. Growing up in secret of the world, he was raised on the island of Dis, a native demon island in the middle of the pacific ocean. It is a secretive island that has been made purposefully unapproachable by the world, leading to many myths and conspiracies about it.
  
  There, true demonic practices are still occasionally carried out, but only for the most ancient of traditions, and none of them are as bad as believed to be. They do not sacrifice humans or bathe in blood, but they do perform dark rituals that would corrupt and ruin a non-demon's soul if they were to witness them but for demons these are no more unusual or dangerous than the ritual of Native American dancing and singing.
  
  Azrael, despite his birthright among the Etherwing house, has no interest in his heritage. He doesn't wish to be a noble lord. He doesn't want servants and he doesn't want to rule. He wants to have sex, fight, and play sports like anyone of his age does. With five older brothers, every one of them should have been in line for ruling before he was, but because of the blemish that looks like a brand around his left eye, he has been supposedly destined as the next ruler.
  
  As soon as he was old enough to form an opinion about ruling, he defied his father any way that he could. This lead to beatings and punishments that would make CPS cry all over their papers, but were not unusual among his kind.
  On top of this, he earned the ire and resentment of all five of his older brothers, who attempted to kill him on more than one occasion. Growing up in an environment with parents that were constantly pissed off at him, and brothers that attempted to kill him on several occasions, Azrael officially motioned to sever his connection to his family, but his parents refused to acknowledge it, keeping him officially part of their bloodline and the heir to the Morrigan estate and right to rulership over the Etherwing House.
  
  With no other choice, Azrael ran away, disappearing into the world. Thanks to the Morrigan male history of "sowing their oats", bastard Morrigan offspring are littered all over the world, and so he was easily able to disappear into the world, picking Westland University as the place to learn about the general world and make a name for himself in a different way.
  
  Towards the end of Summer break, Azrael showed up for football tryouts and obliterated the quarterback with a brutal tackle, breaking the front offensive line in the process, resulting in him earning the position of Nose Guard for Westland's monster league football team.
