Charming, witty, and a generally laid-back guy, the fact that Rhysand "Rhys" Beaumont is only 18 years old doesn’t lessen his position in the social hierarchy, which is Grayson High. It’s not like Rhys ever tries to purposely gain people’s attention and respect, but when it’s handed to him on a silver platter, he wouldn’t say no either. His shameless flirtatiousness towards girls and boys can only charm so many people, but he’s even managed to crack even the most solid people into loving him. He is, after all, very easy to get along with and there's very few who dislike him. Rhys is the guy who always seems to be surrounded by a group of friends, and though a lot of people envy him for it, he has experienced the downsides as well. While it seems as if his reputation is invincible and he can do no wrong, he’s constantly feeling pressured to being the upbeat, cheerful and energetic guy that everyone can rely on when they need a laugh or some entertainment at a deadbeat party.
The socialite ‘parents’ that Rhys lives couldn't care any less about him and his siblings. In fact, the whole Beaumont family is quite the nightmare in privacy (and the disastrous family dinners too) but not in public. No, never in public as they have a reputation to uphold. Yet, he is not as close with his twin-sister or older brother, as people like to believe. There was a time where he was close to his brother, but somehow they grew apart and started to avoid each other. The only one Rhys truly relies on, and probably the one to keep the family together, is his older sister, Riri. But not even Riri can put an end to the family disasters where she lives in from South Korea. Despite his reputation, Rhys doesn't need to work very hard in life to get what he wants, albeit he is hardworking and perfectionistic when it comes to honing his dancing and singing abilities – although his easy wit and good looks grants him extension to some point, his charming smile can get him out of any bad situation, and a wink can get (almost) anyone he wants into his bed, the one thing he will have to work hard for is to not get into much trouble.
Besides being known as a person you want to be seen with, want to show up to a party beside, or get tagged alongside with the infamous red cup on facebook in some photo, Rhys has Grayson High and the rest of the small town wrapped around his finger. He’s like the real version of a Ken barbie, except he’ll never really deal with many problems the best, despite his family situation with his sister missing and all. Because he usually lets his anger and jealousy get the best of him sometimes, many worry on how to stay on his good side before something bad happens and they set him off; it doesn’t take much more than just looking at him the wrong way that’ll make him totally shut you off from everyone and anyone, but if you stay on his good side, he’s bound to love you aimlessly. However, no one's perfect and he isn't for certain even though people like to think so. Underneath his charming and easy-going reputation, he is a good person who sometimes struggles with his so-called "image". Yet living in a small town, where gossip is spreading like a wildfire, doesn't help much either. However, he’s good with people and feelings, even though he’ll never admit it, and he’s extremely protective – even to the point of territorial – of his certain friends, people he care about, and family from time to time.
Unlike other boys his age, Rhys is fond of dancing which he uses a lot of his time to practice. From a young age, he realised that he didn’t have a particular gift with singing but he did have a talent for dancing. Don’t get him wrong, because he can sing decent enough, but dance is his passion and main priority. He started at the age of five, and fell in love with dancing ever since he laid eyes on Riri and Rian dancing which left him awestruck by how graceful dancers looked. Every day, he would practice, sometimes with others and sometimes alone, until he learned to perfect his choreographies, often until his feet bled. And there was also a time where Rhys wished more than ever that he was still on speaking terms with Rian after he began working as a dance instructor at the Beaumont Studio. However, he quickly forgot about this as his world came crashing down the minute, one of his best friends, Parker, died of cancer. With that, everything seemed to go downhill because his twin suddenly went missing too. And Rhys began more and more to withdraw into himself with the exception of the time, he spent with his other best friend, Phoenix, who he'd slept with after ever since Parker's death (and yes, big mistake because she was also Parker's late girlfriend). Yet, the time with Phoenix couldn't fill the gaping hole in his heart and not long after, he began looking elsewhere for something to fill this hole.
To his luck, he got an acceptance letter from YG Entertainment that said he was accepted into their trainee program – something, no one saw coming, not even his close friends or his oldest sister – and one day, he just packed his bags and left for South Korea without a words to no other than his parents who weren't thrilled to see their golden boy leave. But they couldn't, nonetheless, stop him from going. With that, Rhys bid goodbye to his old life and welcomed a new chapter as trainee, hoping that this time he could forget what had happened in Grayson Valley as... what happens in Grayson Valley, stays in Grayson Valley. What he didn't know, when he settled into his new trainee life, was that he'd debut as the new YG trainee to replace the famous DEAN in Crude Play a year later.

Rhysand "Rhys" Beaumont was born as the third Beaumont child along with his twin-sister to his father and his third wife. Rhys' mother, younger than his father at that time, was delighted to have children of her own after so many years of attempting to have some; he often heard them calling their little boy and girl their Christmas gifts (because God forbids, it was not the same nor enough with her husband's two children from previous marriages). It was, to them, a Christmas miracle and they were happy to have them. Still, as happy as they were to have these bundles of joy, they were two people who came from a very old line of family money. Both his father and mother had been raised in wealth, and that had taught them that it was perfectly normal to allow someone else to raise your child while you continued on with your assorted business and social engagements. Due to this, Rhys along with his twin-sister were practically raised by their older sister, Riri, and of the private-hired Nanny. It wasn’t that the Beaumont parents didn't love their children, it was just that that was the way that things were. Rhys began to simply understand this too. His life might have been a little lonely, but it wasn’t because his parents didn’t love him. It was just the way that things were until he got older. As he got older, and Riri left for South Korea in order to pursue her dream as an Idol, he began to see the Beaumont family for what it truly was; a superficial nightmare where nothing less than perfect was tolerated. It was a nightmare at home because of his mother's constant nagging that rubbed off onto his twin-sister, his father's indifference, Rian's ignorance, and the sky-high expectations. -
