• Appearance

  Ethel looks very much like what you would expect an old witch that lives in the woods to look like. Short and rather frail in body, her crepe skin and wrinkly face betray her age as much as her humped back and slow, shuffling gate. Her hair is long and wild, dark grey strands falling down to her waist, and if it collects leaves and stick as she meanders the forest, she neither notices nor cares. Thin lips sit beneath her crooked nose and glinting, sunken eyes, and skin clings to her wide, round cheekbones like leather stretched across a bleached skull. Her clothes are a myriad of trailing, dirty rags over an old, green dress with a droopy bodice and a leather corset-like waistline (think of an ill fitted, German dirndl). Around her neck are a variety of necklaces composed of bird bones, colorful feathers, smooth rocks, and stolen trinkets. She usually prefers to venture barefoot, leading to dirty, deformed, and heavily calloused feet that smell intensely of ginger and rosemary (she soaks her toes in a heated mixture of said herbs at the end of long days).
