Gale in one sentence.
Gale is a 2600 year old 'Patron of Journeys' slash 'Traveling God' who speaks softly and carries a big stick.
Magic man!
He uses whistles to cast magic, but it doesn't seem to be necessary. He will probably never have a finite list of abilities, but here's the ones that matter;
-
*Summon his herd of wind horses.
*Find anything eventually. For example, Gale knows his spare truck keys are definitely, absolutely somewhere in his basement, but he's still looking.
*Use bridges to cross large distances, as long as he's been there before.
*Drum up a little fog.
*Summon a wild bird to do little bird chores.
*Summon his walking staff from pretty much any place no one was directly looking at.
*Open doors and windows from the other side of the room. (Stupid, but fun).
*He's been alive a long time. He knows tricks and sometimes he pulls them out of his back pocket. Ex: Peeling the binding off a book and using it to 'bind' someone in place.
Has a magic stick.
He has a six foot tall walking staff he takes almost everywhere. It's not very special, it's just a nice stick.
A big house, but he's never home.
Lives in middle of fuck-all nowhere, in Cromster, Oregon.
Soft spoken barbarian.
Gale grew up in ancient Massalia (600 BCish). He was probably Greek by nationality, but his genetic heritage is a little bit of everywhere. He traveled around Europe. He had some good days, and one really bad one. Now he's a god and hasn't aged past fifty. He is a genuinely caring human being, who has absolutely beheaded his enemies.
Doesn't eat or drink.
He doesn't know what a pineapple tastes like. Gale stopped eating after becoming a god. He hates the taste of things, and since this happened before common era there are many, many foods he has never tried, and never wants to.
His patience is biblical. -
Hibernates.
Like a bear, yup. Gale stays in a good mood by going into a hibernation cycle once every century or three. It can last a month, it can last decades. More importantly, it winds back his clock and repairs some of the wear and tear of being alive. Gale doesn't age forwards or backwards, but a good long nap can grow back an arm and keep his personality nice and even.
