Seclusion Ash Alma

Intro

• Thone of Blood and Bone

  Walking through the battlefield of old had never felt so strange, the scent of blood still heavy in the air as her leather boots met the ground. Smoke rose from the buildings of the stone village, the screams of children and women as they tried to escape the wrath of angels that slaughtered them, demons were there to torment the dying as well butchering the innocent and the humans were even joining in as she watched the familiar scene before her. Her steps stopping as she reached an old stone well and so did everything else, the memory had stopped, for that was not what remained.
  
  The image now crumbled before her as she woke from the trance she was in, finally her eyes could now see what was left of her home. The air was as clear as the night itself, the moonlight falling over the last village of her race. The village that now stood in ruins, stone buildings crumbled and fallen around her, the oaths were now overgrown with the bones of enemies she’s once slain being slowly devoured by the plants around them. Her mismatched eyes soon looked into the well she’d stopped before, it too was crumbling, with nature slowly reclaiming what was taken from it. A soft sigh passed her lips before turning her gaze to the sound of soft paw pads that stopped beside her. “We should carry on…” a motherly voice fell from the voice of the white wolf, eyes as warm as honey looking to the harsher eyes of her younger companion.
  
  Finally relenting, her eyes closed before her black boots once more started to walk through the crumbling world around her. The wolf at her heels this time, paws making no sound on the earth beneath them, the young womans wings draped behind her like a cloak of midnight blue. The ends seemed as though they had been dipped in black Indian ink, the longer feathers dragging on the ground slightly before being adjusted slightly, at which point the tips touched the heel of her boots as she walked. Pausing once more her gaze turned to her old home, she could hear both the screams and the laughter before her, her eyes watching as a barely visable figure ran out laughing only to turn and scream seconds later. The wolf paused and looked up at her once more before this time taking the lead.
  
  Regaining composure the young woman followed once more, her soft breathes becoming nothing but puffs of smoke as the air became colder. “They’re here” once again she turned to the sky, in that mere second the wolf had vanished and in it’s place stood a twin bladed scythe. With blades mimics the shape of the crescent moon, the only difference was the darkness that oozed from the silver crescents, pale hands grabbed the bloodied bandages on the black handle. The ground cracked around where the scythe had once stood, as the young woman had pulled it from the ground. Aiming it at the creatures before her, they would not take what she had left. It might be falling around her but, she would still protect what was left, so efficient she was, that they barely had a minute before the heads of the intruders were rolling on the ground.
  
  Just as quickly as it had appeared the scythe seemed to vanish and the white wolf had taken its place once more. A quick glance was all that was needed before they continued on their path. Her gaze rising again to the palace before her, the path was different from what she remembered, for instead of lights, in their place grew white arum lilies, the moonlight bouncing off their snow white petals. With each step it felt as though the temperature dropped. Once inside she noticed trees had taken over the place, with roots and leaves covering the lower floors, the holes not he ceiling letting the darkness of night through and no doubt the day when that came once more. The marble floor underneath them made the claws of the wolf click, each step from her boots could be heard as they headed towards the throne room.
  
  The old doors creaked and one even fell as they entered, unfazed she turned towards the crumbling throne. As each step was taken it almost seemed to change its form. Standing before the once pure white, crumbling throne, in its place was a formation of skulls, the bone almost looked polished, but the seat of the chair was a deep red, almost like blood. A smirk on her pale lips appeared before she sat in the new throne. The wolf at her feet moved to sit beside her. “They really are fools” she said, she could sense more were coming, her mismatched eyes looking out fo the broken window, her left eye was a beautiful golden amber, but the right was a brilliant blood red, both contrasting with her coal coloured hair and ivory skin.
  
  “Indeed, I wonder how long until they understand this is not their territory.”. “That… Deadly, will take some time. Shall we see how long it takes for them to find us?” she smirked at the wolf. Laughing a bit the wolf replied back “Now that, sounds like a fun game Seclusion”. The young woman rested her head on her hands, waiting for the moments when more of the angels would come for them, just like the freshly dead ones whose bodies were now fodder for the Earth. For when one throne crumbles, another must take its place.
