• Description

  Hjaernan stems from the 'uncivilized' edges of the world that most have never heard of, let alone believe life there to be even possible. Having lived half his life as a pirate and Brigadier, he has grown attached to the orderly fashion of the kingdoms of the continent after being stranded on one of his raids along coastal towns. The pragmatic acceptance of the local farmers of their strange but diligent helper that very much resembled the men that had made their life so difficult in the past left a deep impression in the young man that had barely reached his mid-twenties. Ever so slowly, he came to understand and cherish this strange and so utterly different land he had found himself in but not soon after, the ripples of the chaos reached the idyllic village he stayed at as a helping hand. Soon after, the drafting officers brought him into the army, making him serve in one conflict after the other without any end in sight until a large, final battle months after he had first set off. The wounded were numerous and to this day, he was not even sure who had won in the end. He had just walked off after some time. These were not his lands and he saw no reason to bleed or die over them
  
  While he nowadays lives as a vagabond once more, his aim is to restore law and order on a smaller basis - or at least what he perceives as justice. He has long given up on the premise of fixing the world in one big battle somewhere and rather seeks to better it one step at a time, one small skirmish after the other. All these petty kingdoms fighting each other over minuscule territorial gains reminds him far too much of home to be a part of it and seeing the delighted faces of the people whose lives he has directly helped is only more reason for him to walk this path.
